Vehicle Detail
hello! this is a very solid and dry 55 crown from kansas with clear kansas title, now in ohio. it is originally a pink and white in and out car. the car was going to be redone as just a street car as the interior was missing and painted red. i feel the car is way to good not to to be restored to original. i had very decent correct 55 crown seats and the other parts missing to complete it. all of the crown specific parts are on the car and all in very nice shape to restore. the original headliner, inside tiara mouldings, rear seat v corners, rear inside window trim, armrest mouldings, etc are extremeley nice.. i have put nothing with the car that is not very easily restored with out a crazy amount of time looking for hard to find items. the car came with a 61 292 y block pickup motor. upon inspection i found the motor to be very clean inside. i changed the oil pan and exhaust manifolds to passenger car. new plugs and points, it runs excellent and starts right up. i put a new clutch, disc and throw out bearing in the original transmission and it shifts in all gears nicely. it still needs exhaust and brakes. there is a new master cylinder included. i put a 56 wiring harness on the car, it has 12 volt generator, starter, and is wired to the ignition switch. the dash bulbs, lights and accessories arent done. i have included a very decent 55 wiring harness if you want to switch back to 6 volt. the interior while complete, will need redone. the body is just really good on this car. it was just gone over quickly and a fast and not very good paint job was applied. they did not take the time to remove the minor dings that most body men do to make a quality finish. there wasnt any detailing done underneath, which is a good thing, as you can see from the pics how good the car is. perfect floors, crossmember, original inner and outer rockers.there are 2 body supports with very minor rust out, do not need replaced. very minor patches on front fender bottoms only, excellent hood inner fenders etc. the doors are perfect also. the left rear quarter is original, with drain holes in the lower section. there is minor rust out in the inner wheel well. the right quarter has been replaced half way up, as has the lower inner section.i dont know if it was rust or damage. they did a decent job, but my feeling is that this is the only area on the body that needs a little time spent. there is one very minor patch in the trunk. the trunk rail, trunk floor and tail panel are very nice. decklid rust free. please know i am covering all phases of the car in detail so you will know exactly what your getting. the car has alot of really nice bright work. the vent window frames are excellent. it has new quarter panel mouldings, door handles. very nice hood bird.all the mouldings on the are realy nice with no or very minor dings, except the drivers lower windshield moulding, one is included. ,. the wind shield and door glass are bad. i am incuding a pretty decent windshield with new gasket. there is not a ton of loose parts as the car is pretty much together. the trunk lock housing is missing, i have an old one with attaching parts. just pull the wire for now. i think this is a great car for a full restoration or you could make into a driver with basic skills.if i have many parts for these cars and dont put junk parts on them. please ask questions, and for more pics, have plenty. come and see or send some one. if you dont have alot of feedback or negatives you better contact me first. i would also help with overseas buyers. thanks!
