For Sale is a very nice virtually rust free 1955 GMC Short Bed Pickup. This is a California truck and has always been a California truck. The bottoms of the fenders, the doors, the step sills, the bed, the door pockets, the tail gate...all spots normally rust prone are rust free! The original GMC V-8 was replaced with a Chevrolet 350 and a late model automatic transmission. The truck came from the factory with the ultra rare factory power steering which is still functioning great. Power brakes were also added with the booster placed near the frame so as not to interfere with the original looks of the engine compartment. All other aspects of the truck remain original. The truck starts on the first turn of the key and idles nicely. The truck runs and drives however the steering box will need to be rebuilt as their is play in the steering and I would suggest new bushings be installed on the front end. Also, a new shifter handle for the column will be needed as the original has a crack in it. The truck has a brand new windshield, rear glass and door glass (cost over $1000)...only the vent window glass is used. I have purchased a brand new finished oak bed for the truck and brand new stainless steel polished ribs and bolt kit for the bed floor which will need to be installed. I also have purchased new door hinges (the originals have wear), new tail light lenses, new rear view mirrors, a new correct cab headliner and seal, new stainless for the surrounds around the windshield, door and rear window and a new dome light lens..This is a nice truck that is a very light restoration project. The truck could be used and driven as is once the steering is rebuilt. I have the original V8 emblems, the original hydramatic emblems, an extra ash tray that comes with the truck. Also, the 100 emblem and mounting brackets that fit in the grill area are included as is an original radio speaker and an original type radio. This truck is currently registered in California and has no California back fees due. I invite you to come see and drive this truck. It is available for inspection at any time. Please take a moment to look this up as it was due to my refusal to ship four hubcaps to a buyer in Brazil of all places for $25. I was going to challenge it but my wife said leave it as only a nut would expect you to ship hubcaps to Brazil for $25...so what the heck. All the rest of my feedback is excellent which I value.
