Well loved and taken care of 1986 Ford Ranger TURBO Diesel that gets 30 MPG! Very rare. The engine in this Ford is a Mitsubishi 4D55 that came straight from the factory. Unlike the 1983-1985 Ford Ranger diesels that had a 2.2 Perkins non-turbo in it, this truck has a 2.3L TD engine that has the power equivalence of a V-6 Ranger but deliverers 30mpg. Yep, I average just a little over 30 MPG on the highway and about 27-28 combined around town. The truck is a 4x2 long bed (7 foot bed), with a 2.3L Mitsubishi 4D55 engine. It has a duel battery system that will crank the engine over in any temperature and it also has a very rare sunroof that does not leak. The truck has a clean California title that never requires SMOG and has 173,xxx on it. The engine in this truck is rated to go 350k and is in perfect mechanical condition. Mechanically this truck has just undergone all major services in the last 1,000 miles because I intended to keep it for a very long time. The truck needs nothing for the next 60k miles. The work that has just been done on it is as follows: -Complete cooling system clean out with new coolant-Four brand new tires with 100% tread left -Water Pump -Camshaft seal -Front crankshaft seal -Balance shaft seals -Rebuilt fuel pump with silicon seals to handle biodiesel. Without silicon seals any fuel pump will leak if you run biodiesel through it. Truck has actually never run biodiesel but is ready to. -Timing belt -Balancer belt -195 degree thermometer, upgraded from 180 degrees. -Complete radiator clean out -New clutch in the last 20k The truck has been well maintained since new and it shows. All the following equipment is included in the sale. -Original manuals, including factory diesel supplementary manual -Original Service manuals -3 sets of keys -Spare tire (never used and in mint condition) -Jack and tire iron -Camper shell Also the truck will come with a bunch of extra parts. -Extra water pump new in box. Accidentally ordered two and could not return -1986 Paperback shop manual -Complete shop manual on CD for 4D55 engine that has detailed diagrams for complete engine tear down and rebuild -Box of miscellaneous Ford Ranger parts including interior trim pieces, nuts and bolts, fan clutch, etc. It does not have A/C, has manual roll up windows and has a tow package with hitch. This truck was built simple and built for a longevity. Medicinally I'd give this truck a 9 out of 10. Cosmetically she has the appropriate amount of scratches and small dents on her age, but nothing major. You can see the pictures for yourself. However all the paint is there and is not coming off and there is NO RUST. The truck has always been a west coast truck. This rare Ford Ranger diesel is one of those trucks you buy and hold onto for a very long time because they're very hard to get in to the US and amazing on mileage. The only reason I'm selling this truck is I needed something substantially bigger for my work and had to break down and buy a gas guzzling utility van (insert frown face here).
