Vehicle Detail
O.K., the weather is nice, real nice...just about right for riding. This is a vintage 1984 Honda Nighthawk 650cc street bike. Here is a little background on the bike. I have owned this bike for about 5 years, I think, maybe 6. I love the bike, I really do. I am selling it because I am buying a Buell. I have taken this bike on long trips, short trips, all over town trips and have never had a lick of trouble with it. The motor has been stable and sound the whole way. It is the coveted 650cc, which is quite rare. The bike has 4 inline carbs, which means it's fast, and I do mean fast. This was one of the earliest sport bikes to come out. The pipes are clean (a little tar, I think, but may clean that off before the sale ends if I can find the time) and straight with no signs of rust at the baffles. The turn signal stems are the original so they are pretty worn; they have cracked and will need to be replaced if it matters to you. They are on ebay for under 10 bucks a stem, but they are fine as it, see the pics. I have mostly run premium gas through it, but not that picky. The tires, which can cost a ton, are in marvelous shape. The tread has many, and I mean many, miles left on them and there is no dry rot, cracking or weather chap issues. I did not ride a whole lot and this is my "second bike". I also have a Harley, but this one is faster, smoother, cheaper, and more reliable...but...it's not a Harley. :) I figure I get somewhere between 55 and 60 miles per gallon, which is just what the doctor ordered. The tank is in pretty nice shape, clean inside, with a touch of touch up paint on the tanks top (got it that way) and a scratch here and there, but nothing too bad. The side plastics and rear plastics are nice too, with the exception of a small crack (see the picks) and a couple little scratches on the very rear (also, see pictures.). There is also a rip along one of the seams on the seat, which I covered with black duct tape to keep my behind dry when the seat got wet, (also...in the pics) I am not selling this bike to get rid of a problem, I LOVE it, it has NO issues as far as I know in any way...unless I have noted them here. It's not all that cold-blooded either. I have kept er in a garage...resting...waiting...for the few times a year I get it out just to feel the road so smoothly. I have had many bikes, this is the best specimen of any Honda I have owned. The condition is "road ready....right now" no work required. This bike is fun and comfortable on rides regardless of distance...although I guess I have only gone about 300 miles in a trip with it. My wife bought me this bike and I hate to see it go, but I don't have room anymore. The whole engine is clean and oil free...well, I guess, there is oil INSIDE, but not outside (also, unlike my Harley). Live in Midland Michigan...come and see it if you like, but shoot me a time and phone number before you come. The mileage will likely go up 50-150 miles as I continue to LOVE this bike...until it's gone. Of course, you will have to come and pick this bike up, I will not be delivering it....HOWEVER...if you live somewhere between Michigan and Florida, I might be able to drop it off to you as I have to take my trailer down anyway to get the other bike...but would require a delivery fee based on how far I have to go out of my way. If you use BUY IT NOW, money is required immediately, otherwise a non-refundable $500.00 US deposit is due immediately if buy it now is not used. One last thing...I have been thinking I may post a video of this on youtube...running and so on...so that may be available soon.
