Vehicle Detail
This auction ends next Sunday, March 18th at 5:00 pm ET, 4:00 pm CT, 3:00 pm MT, and 2:00 pm PT This car was just found in a barn last weekend where it had been stored since 2000, it was towed to it's current location this past Tuesday. Needless to say, it is in pretty good condition but needs a loving home. HIGHLIGHTS: - Black 1980 Volkswagen Rabbit Cabriolet Convertible with a black top and burgandy interior - 101,385 actual miles - Very nice convertible top that can easily be opened and closed and doesn't leak - Removable Stereo Cassette Player (replaced in 1999) - Clear Title - Grill on the front of the car, the pop out half window on the drivers side by the side mirror, and the window handle on the back left seat all come off easily - The VIN Number is correct, 15A0807053, according to Internet research cars manufactured in 1979 (thus being a 1980 model) were the last year of the 10 character VIN Number - Car needs to be mechanically checked out, we have not started it because the battery is disconnected so we have no idea what kind of mechanical problems this car may or may not have (please bid accordingly because we are not stating this car is mechanically sound). For all we know it may need a whole new engine even though it does look pretty good, especially for a car this old. But, you may be able to connect the battery, put two new tires on it, and it may run perfectly. - Needs two (2) new front tires in order to roll, honestly probably needs four (4) new tires for driving purposes - We highly suggest any interested party come and see the car in person because this may be a time consuming investment piece or a diamond in the rough and unbelievably great deal. - Please message or email us if you'd like additional pictures (Jordan@JordanVentures.com) PAYMENT: $100 non-refundable payment is due through PayPal within three (3) days of listing ending and the remaining balance due within seven (7) days. Payment in full must be received within ten (10) days of the listing ending. The $100 payment will be applied to the total balance due (example buyer wins this listing for $2000, pays the $100 payment within three days of the listing ending, then they will have a remaining balance of $1900 due within seven days, ten (10) total days from the actual listing ending. SHIPPING: The buyer is solely responsible for picking this car up and transporting it from it's currently location. It is located just south of Roanoke, Virginia right off of 220. Additionally, we have made this a "Private Listing" to protect your identity and allow you to remain anonymous to other eBay users. We look forward to your business, Jordan Ventures, Inc.On Mar-13-12 at 02:40:25 PDT, seller added the following information:Please note the car is missing the small black plastic piece that goes on the end of the front left bumper. Also, the front left panel inside the door is somewhat unattached, about a third of it but the entire panel stays on the door no matter how many times you open and close it. The latch to lock the driver's door from the inside is also missing. There is also a small black plastic piece that goes on the top of the speaker on the front left door that is unattached. We're very certain that someone could simply super glue that back on because it will rest on the speaker area where it's suppose to go, it just comes off when you close the door. Those are our most recent observations about the car, please remember it's only been in our possession for a week now. Please look very closely at the pictures, email us for bigger pictures, and if possible come see the car in person. We do not want to mislead anyone in any way, shape, or form about this car. As stated in the auction, it "may a time consuming investment piece or a diamond in the rough and unbelievably great deal".On Mar-14-12 at 06:28:45 PDT, seller added the following information:$1200 RESERVE (very low compared to completed listings here on eBay recently). Similar cars have been selling somewhere in the neighborhood of $3500 to $4900 lately. Plus think about it, if you spend $800 to $1800 on the restoration of this vehicle it would be an amazing deal to be riding around all summer long every year with the top down in this classic car for only a $2000 to $3000 total investment. Not to mention the savings on gas thanks to these cars getting such great gas mileage. On Mar-14-12 at 15:15:19 PDT, seller added the following information:To clear up some apparent confusion of a couple of people, this car is not owned by Jordan Ventures Inc. nor Mr. Jordan himself. We are simply selling it for the owner "as is" and in the condition we've stated and can be seen in the pictures. To restate what we originally did in the listing description: "Car needs to be mechanically checked out, we have not started it because the battery is disconnected so we have no idea what kind of mechanical problems this car may or may not have (please bid accordingly because we are not stating this car is mechanically sound). For all we know it may need a whole new engine even though it does look pretty good, especially for a car this old. But, you may be able to connect the battery, put two new tires on it, and it may run perfectly." "We highly suggest any interested party come and see the car in person because this may be a time consuming investment piece or a diamond in the rough and unbelievably great deal."On Mar-17-12 at 11:59:02 PDT, seller added the following information:Reserve REDUCED from $1200 to $1000!
