Vehicle Detail
68 Camaro Convertible This Camaro started out its life as a V8, manual transmission car, (possibly an SS). D1- Grotto Blue w/ white convertible top 717 - Blue standard buckets At the Norwood Ohio Plant in the fourth week of June 1968. As you can tell by the pictures, it has lived a typical “ Camaro” life. The original engine and transmission have been long gone. However I have procured a 396, Muncie M20 4 speed transmission, and 11 inch flywheel, and 3899621 bell housing to replant in it. It does have multi-leaf springs I have the original front two piece rotors, 4 piston caliper mounting brackets and power brake booster with auxiliary booster. I replaced the original frame because of the pad rot. Also included with the car is a set of big block front springs and frame perches, and well as an original big block heater core cover. The front sheet metal is Rally Sport equipped and in re-useable condition. The core support is original and in useable condition. The inner fenders are original Rally Sport fenders and in useable condition. As you can see the body is really pretty solid, but not perfect. There is some rust in the front right floor board and someone did the “radical” remodeling of the shifter area of the trans tunnel. The doors need to be re-skinned, however the original side glass and associated hardware is still intact. The rear quarter glass in both sides are in place. The convertible top (non power top) and associated frame is included and the top functioned when it was removed and has been in dry storage ever since. As you can see, at some point the Camaro was hit in the rear and repaired. The quarter panels are damaged and rusted, and should be replaced. Include with the car is original front seats, glove box door, steering column, heater box and controls, sun visors, rear view mirror, chrome around the windshield, and a pillar, wiper control arms, back seats, rear quarter interior panels and side panels, back seat, top and bottom, new blue seat covers (rear only) most of the bolts for the plastic “drip tray”, emergency brake mechanism, a set of standard gauges, and some other miscellaneous parts. I you don’t see it, or I didn’t list it, ask me about it. If I have it, I will include it in the price. No problem ! Clear VA title. This is a solid platform for the start of a great 68 Camaro project, Sorry no trades. Call Bryan – (540)272-3523 or (571)233-9894
