This truck was given to me by a friend at church two years ago. He used it for several years to make runs to the hardware store on weekends. Then it sat for seven years. When I got it, I intended to fix it up and make it roadworthy. A new fuel pump and battery were installed. I had it towed to the mechanic. He said it needed a tune-up, which he did. It ran, but the radiator leaked. So I bought a new radiator ($300 because of the tow package) and he installed it. Then I drove it a mile and it broke down. He said replace the carburetor. So a new 4bbl carb was installed. But still it would stall out after a couple of miles. Took it to another shop and they said replace the distributor. That's how I left it. I got a trailer so I lost interest. A new distributor is less than $100 at Rock Auto. Also the exhaust manifold bolts and gaskets need to be replaced. Be aware that you will probably have to drill them out. Now the good: The engine and transmission are both very good. You can imagine the one ton drivetrain is very durable. It has a 360 4bbl with auto trans. You can pull stumps out of the ground with it. The body is solid. there is some rust bubbling over the right rear wheel and under the driver's door. Other than that, very clean. No dents, no rust underneath, bumpers, lights and lens covers all very clean. Has old r12 a/c. It turns but doesn't blow cold. Tow package with class III hitch and wired up. Bedliner and fiberglass cap are included. Tires have good tread and all original hubcaps are there. Glass is all good. Dash has had a custom cover on it and so is still like new. Bench seat is torn on driver's side. 1985 means you can get historic tags if you're not driving it every day. I've spent over $1,000 in new parts, and it just needs the final couple repairs to get it back on the road. You will have to tow it home. I do not ship or make complicated arrangements. Just be sensible and make sure it's worth your time and money before bidding.
