I have owned this car since 2001, but just never had time to really fix it up. It has always been a reliable daily driver and that allowed me to put off really working on it. The stainless panels are in excellent shape with NO dents at all. Runs and drives. Frame is rust free. There is minor rust on other parts, like sway bar brackets, radiator brackets, etc which is normal. The car is in great shape but has some minor things wrong that I will detail below. The previous owner made a few upgrades which include: - lowered front suspension, so the car does not have the "nose in the air" look that stock deloreans have. - automatic transmission cooler - anti-theft device - Stainless steel coolant reservoir. - Air shield is installed to prevent hot air from radiator fans blowing onto the gas tank. - New leather seats as of 2001 which are still in excellent shape. Things I have done to the car: - New transmission shift computer installed in 2001. - Sport shock kit from the Mid State Delorean club installed in 2005. - Installed aftermarket stereo tape deck. - Complete engine service was done in 2003, including complete ignition tune up with new cap, rotor, wires, performance coil, platinum spark plugs - hex-head oil drain plug installed, special square wrench no longer needed for oil change - K&N air filter installed. Extra items/parts not installed: - Car comes with the wooden door support and socket extension support for adjusting torsion bars. - a bunch of old Delorean World magazines and official Delorean Tech Manual, maintenance records all the way back to first owner. - various extra parts including intake manifold gasket kit, original ASI stereo, extra new complete set of engine sensors (vacuum switch, thermotime sensor, etc) - head light upgrade kit from DMCH - silicone vacuum line kit and 8mm Performance wires from SpecialTauto - Upgraded all metal window motors for both doors from Delorean Motor Company. Ok now onto the bad stuff: - Crack in dash binnacle and warping. - All headliners are in bad shape and sagging. - Doors both need new window motors, which come with the car but need installed. - Blower motor needs replaced, works but makes rattle noise. - AC does not work needs recharge. - Front fascia is warped which is typical. - The steering wheel shakes when braking. Will need troubleshooting. - Rear view mirror came off of windsheild and needs stuck back on. - Driver door lock sticks when locked. If you keep unlocking it a few times it will eventually unlock. Power lock module has been disconnected due to driver door lock issue. - Power antenna has been uninstalled. Still have it and comes with car. - One tail light lens is orange while the other is clear. Its been this way since i got it and I never changed it.
