Vehicle Detail
Very clean, low mileage 1998 four wheel drive Chevy Express 15 passenger van, non smoker, clean home owned. This van was converted by Advanced Four Wheel Drive Systems in Salt Lake City Utah (currently a $10k upgrade). It has a 7.4 liter vortec engine (port injected NOT throttle body), 4L80 transmission , 4:10 gears, G80 locking rear axle, manual locking front hubs, full trailer towing package with all coolers, hitch and brake controller. We have owned this van since 2006 when it had 32k miles on it, currently at 65k. Van has received normal repairs as needed, brakes, battery, belt, water pump, engine- trans-transfer case and rear oils, the intake gasket was replaced for a coolant leak after we got it (very small leak but we were going to Fla) and the Dex-Cool removed, system flushed and reg green coolant installed--no problems since. It has a custom made front hitch/receiver which was used for a bike rack. It has full powers for this year, tilt, cruise, power seats, heated mirrors, rear heat and A/C. All of the rear seats remove with pins for maximum cargo area. With the rear two seats removed you have enough room to put bikes in it and still seat 8 people. Chevy extends the frame and wheelbase on there 15 pass vans instead of extending the body like Ford and Dodge which makes pulling a trailer easier, less tail wag (I've never had any). This van is much more versatile than a Suburban or Expedition, awesome on long trips. Going to Fla or SC from NJ with my family of five I've never had to hear "are we there yet!"---Priceless! This van runs great, shifts great, no leaks, no rot or rust issues, never repainted. It does have normal wear, some scratches and small dents on the bumpers (the way we bought it), look at the pics and ask me any questions. It will need tires soon but still have life left on them and could be driven cross-country if needed. I would be able to install new tires if you have them shipped to me, no cost for the mounting and balance. The van has only been used to transport people, never used off road, it was great during the snow over the years. A van like this new would probably cost around $45k. This van is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction. On Feb-26-12 at 07:46:24 PST, seller added the following information: *The power antenna does not go all the way up or down, the radio still works fine, it never bothered me enough to replace it. I am a private owner, not a dealer so the van is sold "as is, where is", with NO warranty. That stated, I wouldn't hesitate to take this vehicle anywhere. There is also a piece of trim missing in the very top rear inside, we bought it this way, it has no effect on the function of the van.
