2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Car was purchased at an insurance auction with a salvage title due to a rear window or trunk seal leak and the IMA (integrated motor assist) computer getting wet. The insurance appraisal calls for the control module and battery which is located behind the rear seat to be replaced. There is evidence of the module having been wet. I've been driving the car on and off for over a month and it runs and drives great, and everything works correctly. The economical 1.3 engine has a little valve noise as is normal I'm was told by the tech at manchester honda. I did have the valve lash set there. The IMA will act up after a period of driving and kick on the check engine light and a light just for the IMA, the car then goes into "engine only mode". When the car is restarted the IMA light goes off and the check engine light can be reset. Even with all this being the case, the car still gets an average of 34 MPG!!! Body, and paint on the car are good with no sign of prior repair or paintwork. The interior has no cigarette smells, or excesive wear. Dont wait until gas goes over the $5.00 mark this year to start searching for an inexpensive economy car.
