You are looking at a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. The fellow we purchased this Ford from owned it since 1970. It is in a drivable state and the engine and transmission work well. At some point during this Ford's life a Columbia rearend was installed. This rearend also works well. All the lights, wipers, and brakes work. All the guages are in working order and the gas tank has been replaced. It is equipped with five 6.50-16 tires that are in good shape. The fenders, hood, and doors are as good as you will find. The trunk lid is very nice. The right rear fender is nice, although the left rear is a little rough. The quarters are good. The drip rails are nearly perfect with the exception of the last four inches of the right rear rail, which has a few pin holes at the bottom. The original bumpers and guards are in good shape. The front floors are good. For some reason the previous owner screwed a piece of sheet metal to the trunk floor. This makes you think he did this to cover holes, but inspection from the bottom side shows no rust out or holes. The tool tray has some rust but I would consider this to be average for most 1940 Fords. The original seat was in rough shape, so in order to make it driveable we replaced it with a 1937 Ford Coupe seat. The door panels and headliner are missing. The original seat and headliner bows will be included. This Ford is for sale locally as well as on Ebay.
