Up for sale is a nice, clean, original SoCal Mercedes 240D. This car was owned by the original owners up until about 3 years ago. It has been garaged most of it's life, and used as a daily commuter. This car has the original paint, interior, etc. and is in nice, original condition. The car had a new engine installed by Mercedes (complete new long block) about 5 years ago and has about 10K miles. At the time, they replaced the water pump, starter, and vacuum pump, along with all of the hoses and belts. The clutch was replaced about 3 years ago, along with the flywheel, pressure plate, and slave cylinder. Car has a new trans. mount. Overall, the car runs, drives, and handles very nice and very smooth. The suspension is in excellent shape and the car had new KYB shocks installed recently. The brakes have about 5K miles on them. The interior is original, and very clean showing pride of ownership. The seats are near perfect, but the driver's seat show just a little wear. The original carpet is very nice and clean. The dashboard has no cracks and appears "as-new". The wood is excellent. The headliner appears to be sagging a little, but is in nice shape. All door panels are very nice. The car has an older stereo, but sounds nice. All of the gauges work correct, except the odometer. It stopped working literally, about two weeks ago. The car has manual windows and power locks that work well. Very nice controls. All of the climate control systems work correct. These are the manual, so no vacuum issues. The A/C is very cold, the heater, defrost, etc. all work top notch. The car is tight and quiet. The mechanical system is very clean and very tight. New engine, clutch, etc. Perfectly road worthy and a pleasure to drive. No leaks or issues. I have personally driven this car on the freeway several times in the last few months and she is a great car. New hood pad just installed. This car is ready to get in and enjoy. New battery about a year ago. Tires have about 3K miles on them and show almost no wear. This car can be driven anywhere and you will love the way she drives. I am sure far better than 90% of these cars out there. You would never guess the chassis has 259K on her. The exterior is original. Very nice chrome and trim. The right side headlight bezel has a small piece missing, but the bezels are clear and clean. As you can see from the yellow fog lights, she has been garaged and cared for as usually when these sit out, they loose their color. The paint is the original and shiny. There are various small door dings hear and there and some light scratches, indicative of the mileage, but very well cared for and very presentable. Even has the original pin striping. Really, a straight, clean body with no rust or accident damage ever. All panels fit tight and doors close smooth. The trunk is clean and correct. Even comes with the original tool kit. Car comes with some of the original books and records. Still has the original blue California plates and the original license plate frames. Nice original, straight hubcaps. All in all, a really nice, clean, and proper, daily driver that you will be proud of. Not mint, but well cared for and ready to hit the road in reliability, comfort, and style.
