The date October 24th, 1975 and Salesman James W. Arendt of Belvidere Motors, Inc. is about to put through an order for one special wagon. The paperwork calls for a 1976 Chrysler Town and Country six passenger wagon with a staggering list of options, woodgrain delete, and the massive 440 cubic inch powerplant. The original, and only owner took delivery on November 14, 1975. From that moment on, this special wagon was garage kept accruing a mere 74,494 miles on the odometer. Fast forward nearly forty years. This one owner, 74K mile, loaded up, 440 cubic inch wagon is about as original as they come. The exterior is in fair to good condition with minor rust in the lower portion of the doors and below the spare tire carrier, a common issue. The interior is in excellent condition including the seats, seatbelts, dash pad, and door panels with a minor seam split on the driver's cushion. The original carpet is in fair condition, but it is original. The factory issued floormats, all four, are still present and in good shape. The mechanics are in excellent working order. The original owner was meticulous about attending to all of the vehicle's service needs. Recent maintenance includes a full transmission service, battery and operating fluids. Chrysler's 440 cubic inch engine mated to the 727 Torquflite transmission and delivered to the rear wheels via the 12 bolt rearend is near bulletproof. Turn the key, hit the gas, and go.
