FOR SALE BY OWNER: 1966 FORD MUSTANG COUPE 6-CYLINDER -UNIQUE PROJECT CAR This Mustang has patina and provenance! Single owner for 44 years (Bought by my parents in 1968 and in the family since!) Bought from the well-known dealership of Cort Fox in Los Angeles (Hence the license plate) it has almost all original factory equipment. (Examples: License plate and dealer frame: Original! Key to the trunk: original Ford Mustang key. Radio: Ford original... and so on.) The only significant changes from factory equipment are: the transmission has been changed to automatic (Originally it was a 3-speed manual, but we couldn't find the parts anymore!) and the engine has been rebuilt. Nothing much else has been changed from factory. MECHANICALLY: Runs fine- Engine, electrical, transmission all work fine. The only problem is a slow leak in the automatic transmission (needs some fluid from time to time.) As cars of this age do not need to pass smog inspection, all smog equipment has been removed from the engine, but is still available. BODY: Body is complete and generally in good shape, except for a bit of damage on the left back fender... the paint is of course worn in many areas... but, this is why this Mustang is a project car: there's RUST. There's rust in various areas such as the bottom of the doors, one of the side pillars, fender and other areas (see pics.) It's hard to let go of such a long-time family member, but a new home and a new owner desirous of restoring this Mustang to its rightful glory are now needed.
