I have for sale a 1999 SATURN SC2 3dr Coupe in Blackberry. Runs great, only 98,000 miles, very good interior and excellent mechanical condition. The Features: Automatic, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, A/C, dual air bags, great gas mileage, power passenger side mirror, cruise control, tilt wheel, drivers seat lumbar support, 15" alloys, nice aftermarket speakers (Crossfire), AM/FM/CD w/ 5-band EQ, fog lamps The Story: I bought this Saturn from my dad around 2006, he had purchased it used from a dealership in 2002 with only one previous owner. That owner had returned it under lemon law/manufacturer buyback due to a leak in the passenger side floorboard causing water to enter the cabin floor and a mildew issue. The floor was correctly repaired and carpet replaced shortly after my dad purchased it and there have been no problems with it since. I leased another vehicle in December of 2010, opting not to trade my Saturn in on it. The Saturn sat for a period, undriven, between mid-December 2010 and mid-April 2011. The car has been driven periodically since then (about once or twice every two weeks). I intended to sell it over the summer but didn't quite get around to it before my busy season at work kicked back in. I have partial repair records going back to about 36,000 miles. I've had a good bit of recent work done, (most of which I have records for), including: -New wires-Newer plugs-New front rotors-Front and rear brake adjustments-Alignment check-Power steering flush-Repaired drivers side rear defroster tab-Newer tires-Newer flex pipe Car has had current (August) mechanical inspection on steering, suspension, brakes, and electrical; all checked out. Transmission inspected in November, no problems, engine inspected in December, also no problems. Passed E-Check also in December. Car has a clean bill of health! The rough spots: -Vehicle has power sunroof but it does not open. Has been that way for years, too much money for me to bother fixing. THERE IS NO LEAKING FROM THE SUNROOF SEAL! Also, the headliner shade for the sunroof is stuck in the open position so it tends to get hot in the summer. Dealer wanted $250 to just pull the headliner down and check it out, I declined. Would probably be a pretty easy DIY. -There is a water rushing/gurgling noise from behind the dash on acceleration after sitting idle. There is no loss of coolant, coolant in exhaust, loss of power, milky oil or any other signs of a head gasket problem. Have had several mechanics listen to this, told it was somewhat common and likely an air bubble stuck in the coolant system and was not an issue. Car was driven like this for many months with no problems. Seems more a nuisance than anything. -There is rust along both wiper arms. See in pics. May be sandable and paintable, but they'll probably need replaced eventually. You can easily find them for $20 a pop on eBay. -The car has three smallish surface rust spots, along with several tiny paint chips on the hood. The major spots are all nickel sized or smaller, check pics. I got quotes from two body shops; sanding the whole hood, repainting and blending came out to about $450 at both places. To do it the cheaper Maaco way (spot sanding and repainting just the rust areas) was about $270. -There are also two small spots above the front passenger fender that have paint chipped off. This is a plastic body part and can be taken care of with touch up paint (I have a little bottle and will include it). There are similar spots on the rear SATURN bumper logo. Also at the top of the passenger door there is a small spot of rust that could also be touched up with some sanding and paint. See pics for all of these items. -Drivers side floor mat is very worn and has a hole in it from my heel digging in. Can kind of see this in pictures. -Rear console has a wide white scuff mark down the center. See pics. Important stuff: Before the car is purchased I will have a full interior detail done.
