This is a rare car being 1 of 1300 built in 1987 only. 1987 Mercedes Benz 190DT 2.5 TURBO DIESEL. 3 owner [original owner, her daughter then myself] car. No rust southern car all its life. It does run and drive and was daily driven up until 6 months ago when it developed a problem having no power. I bought it and discovered the vacuum lines under the hood were disconnected. I cleaned the turbo line from the intake to the ALDA and hooked up the turbo boost vacuum line and it now has plenty of power :) The rest of the vacuum lines are still disconnected but someone with the knowledge could get them sorted in no time I'm sure. I also replaced the front ball joints and upper strut mounts and it drives much better now too as well. Until the vacuum lines are sorted it's best to manually shift the automatic transmission for proper shift points. There's an exhaust leak at the flex part of the downpipe. Now remember, it's an old car, had a cheap repaint at some point and it has body damage as shown from years ago [and a salvage title as a result] that was never repaired. It was superficial body damage and is still unrepaired as shown [outer body skin on front fender and door only] but as anal as SC is they total due to age & mileage. She's registered, insured and driven it every year since so no problem there. I guess the best thing is the taxes are under $10 bucks due to the salvage notation :) The interior is worn & dirty, with a carpet cover over the cracked dash, ripped driver door panel, etc... The power windows work so does the sunroof anything else I really didn't check. The odometer does not work and mileage reads EXEMPT on title. She did say the instrument cluster was replaced years ago with a used one having higher mileage due to a short in the original one. I have no idea what the actual mileage is. I put the '99 Mercedes CLK wheels and Conti tires on it. They are a perfect fit, NO spacers/adapters, etc... just used shorter wheel lugs to fit. They really set the car off! Im a Mercedes enthusiast so my plans were to restore the car due to its rarity and uniqueness however I've got other things going on as well as health issues and I don't want it to just sit. It will need the aforementioned vacuum lines sorted, some cosmetic attention and other things I'm sure but you can drive it while doing so and enjoy a quick little car with 40's MPG :) Get it now while you can at a price you won't regret or likely ever see again for one of these [or make an offer if you must, I'll consider all offers].
