Vehicle Detail

HISTORY of the R/T Dodge's R/T performance history dates back to the late 1960s. A time when Mopar powered Hemi, Big and Small Block muscle cars rules the street and the drag strip. The first R/T (which stands for Road and Track) was a high performance version of the 1967 Dodge Coronet. Offered in both hardtop and convertible form, the standard R/T featured a 440 cubic inch (7.2L) V-8 power plant, heavy duty suspension, beefier brakes, larger tires, and R/T badging. If that wasn't enough, you could order the legendary 426 cubic inch (7.0L) Hemi engine rated at 425 horsepower. Over the years many different models had a n R/T edition including Aspen, Coronet, Charger, Challenger, Neopn, Viper, and more. In 1998, Dodge added the Dakota to the list, the first truck to wear the R/T badging. The Dodge Dakota R/T went on sale in the spring of 1998 and was produced through 2003. The R/T features the 5.9L (360) Magnum V-8 packing 250 horsepower and 345lb-ft of torque. Maximized with a performance-tuned dual inlet stainless steel exhaust system and a heavy-duty electronic four-speed automatic transmission (46RE). Wearing oversized 17-inch wheels and P255/55 R17 tires gives the Dakota R/T a solid, stable footprint, which further enhances handling. The suspension, which was built with a focus on road handling as opposed to load hauling, is lowred to give the R/T a sleek, road-hugging look and feel. The Dakota R/T has front and rear stabilizer bars to control handling, but the rear bar is a beefier 19mm to minimize body roll in turns during cornering and a limited-slip differential for improved traction and quicker starts. In true street vehicle fashion the Dakota R/T offers a nimble ride, precise handling, stable cornerng and an exceptionally responsive power train and still over delivers on style, capability and comfort but is only offered in a 4x2 configuration. The Dakota R/T's distinctive sport truck styling statement is underscored with a unique exterior pachage, which includes front and rear color-keyed bumpers and flared fenders to accommodate the vehicle's larger wheels and tires. Dakota R/T was available in two body styles: 4x2 Regular Cab or Club Cab. According to production numbers, this is one of less than 1,400 Club Cabs which were produced in Black for 1999. Fiberglass Bed Cover with Spoiler - $500 value Rhino Lining Inside Bed - $300 value Reese Under-Bumper Hitch - $130 value K&N Complete Intake System - $225 value Don't miss out on this classic piece of Mopar history! I have owned this vehicle for several years and during that time, the valve body went out at 130,000 miles. Due to the mileage I decided to completely rebuild the transmission. It is new from seal to seal. There are two spots on the driver's seat which were there when I purchased the truck. They appear to be glue or something, not really sure. Outside has a few little rock chips on front but no major scratches or dents. Overall I think it looks darn good for a vehicle of its age. Please contact me before bidding if you have any questions. We reserve the right to close auction early as this vehicle is also available for sale locally. Thank you for viewing this auction - Good Luck Bidding!
