FL Classic E38 Body Style Last Generation 2001 Sahara Beige Metallic BMW 740 iL, M62 Engine -- Low Mileage!!!!! This auction is for a Sahara Beige Metallic 2001 BMW 740 iL, 4.4 liter E38 body style sedan. This classic gem only has 96,470 miles on the clock and she has spent most of her life down here in FL. She drives like a dream but the vehicle is too big and fast for me and also with gas prices nowadays, I prefer a four cylinder which is the main reason I'm selling said vehicle ...She's spent a lot of time with an ASE Certified BMW tech (my fiancée), and he's prepped her for many months... I am the 4th owner of the vehicle. The car has a clean FL title, “zero” rust on her body (8.5 out of 10 body condition), original BMW paint/clear coat in mint condition, 16” inch decent condition Michelin HydroEdge tires, mint and full spare tire with BMW factory rim, excellent condition 16” BMW factory rims on all tires, and a brand new Sekurit OEM BMW factory windshield recently installed by certified Safelight Auto Glass professionals. The headliner is in OK condition, no sagging, and perhaps done by the previous owner. The head cylinder gasket was done by the previous owner. The A/C could be colder but it keeps the cabin cool. The heating system is rarely used down here in FL, but heat has worked fine on rare, colder mornings. The sound system is original and intact – the radio and CD player function perfectly – a BMW factory, 6-disk CD changer is mounted in the rear trunk space. The original BMW factory MK II NAV Navigation System is also mounted in the trunk area. The CD ROM Navigation disk is included (see pic). Vehicle has a fully functional sunroof, the alarm system is in perfect functioning condition. There are two remote keys. The car has bright blue original BMW HID headlights. Leather interior seats are in good condition but could use a deep leather cleaning treatment by a professional to look mint. There are no rips or tears whatsoever in the leather. Floor bed carpeting is in good condition. Simulated wood grain is in good condition and the steering wheel is in pristine condition and is believed to be the Sport Package edition with all the controls... She has a brand new BMW factory logo hood emblem. The vehicle had a full tune up. There is a new water pump, various new filters, new BEHR fan clutch, new water cooled alternator ($450.00 value), new starter. Complete radiator and miscellaneous coolant parts have been recently installed. Both Oil Separator Valves (OSV) replaced (the vehicle, like all 740s with this mileage, was previously smoking upon start up). There are absolutely no leaks in the throttle body compartment of this car (a common failure of this 4.4 liter engine is oil shooting through the throttle body causing various misfires on the spark plugs). ALL three (3) major engine parts that commonly fail were replaced: the OSV valve separators (2) and new valve cover gaskets were installed on both sides. The second OSV was installed as she lay opened up in the timing cover area. Electric seats on driver and passenger side are fully functional, multi (vertical and horizontal) movement. Three (3) ignition coils were replaced, and I am selling the vehicle with two (2) additional (used) spare coils that can be tested for functionality. The towing “key” attachment is included in the trunk tools compartment (all others are missing), and the trunk area and carpeting are in very clean, good condition. Feel free to bring your mechanic with you to look at the vehicle. Car is being sold in AS IS condition. My fiancée and I will discuss specifics with the new owner, but she is a genuine, 8 cylinder cruiser, and she loves the highway. Gas mileage could be better but as I said this is the main reason I’m putting her up for auction. She treats me good but I can’t afford to keep her. This vehicle is definitely an “enthusiast” car for the car owner of impeccable taste and style. I want to make sure she goes to a good home with someone who will treat her well and enjoy the ride of the “Ultimate Driving Machine.” PROS: · Head cylinder gasket replaced · New water pump, thermostat and radiator · Brand new Sekurit OEM windshield · Brand new battery, starter, alternator · Engine and timing components all replaced (tensioners, guides, chain) · Car is presently on the road and running on full Mobil synthetic grade oil (vehicle is prepped for a nice test drive) · Full service and tune up: both oil separator valves replaced while inside of timing area · All above work (and then some!) done four months ago by an ASE Certified BMW tech and enthusiast CONS: · - Navigation Unit is defective however I put a NAV unit from a 2005 X-5 in the 740 NAV slot in the trunk and it works fine (see pic with NAV in). Radio and automatic climate control pic of NAV with white screen is the way it looks now. Possibility that used NAV may be installed in vehicle by auction's end · - One of the headlight ballasts is defective; however, both HID lights operate 100% (see pics). She will need one new or used headlight ballast soon. They can be purchased here on eBay for short money. Small ding at left, rear quarter, VERY minor (see pic) · - Suspension work may be needed (i.e. ball joints, tie rod ends, etc) but still presently a tight ride with no pulls. She rides straight... · - Driver’s side (rear left) window regulator is defective (motor can be heard but glass does not go down) · - Glove box release mechanism is defective (glove box is empty) vehicle manuals are available and all included in the original BMW leather pouch (see pic) · - Original BMW factory car phone is no longer in the car however the wiring is disconnected and saved. · - One of the functional remote keys needs to be charged for keyless door entry purposes but will start the car (these remote keys normally get charged in the ignition slot while vehicle in operation mode). Safety Restraint System (SRS) will need to be reset by BMW dealer (airbag icon light came on 300 miles ago and this is a basic computer reset.
