Vehicle Detail
Available for your purchase is my 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. This Car is a Norwood built Coupe (124379N) with an X-11 Code on the Cowl Tag. I am only the 3rd Owner of this amazing 1969 Camaro. The Car was built as a 350CI 255HP V-8 (V0201HC) - (Casting No. 3956618 which designates 4-bolt Hi-Perf Block but I can't verify this as the Block has never been removed from the Car); with 4-Speed Transmission with Hurst Shifter. The Car is finished in the Factory original Frost Green Body color with Black Ralley Stripes with original Midnight Green Interior The "original" numbers matching Block is still in the Car. The Block has "never" been out of the Car and still has the original bottom end including original Pistons; Rings; Bearings etc. The Block has never been bored, honed or otherwise machined. In 2001 I replaced the Cam (with a factory Chevy 365 HP Corvette Grind); new Lifters; and a factory original 1969 Chevrolet Z-28 Camaro DZ302 Aluminum Intake (Snowflake casting mark Winters GM Z-28 Intake), along with a Holley Carburator. The Heads are the best small block cast iron heads Chevy made in 1969 with the "Double Hump" casting marks and the large 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. The Transmission is a date code "correct" Muncy M-21 4-Speed (P9R4BS). The Transmission was sent out for rebuilding in 2001 including all new synchronizers; sliders; bearings etc. The "original" Hurst 4-Speed Shifter is still in the Car along with all the Reverse "Lock-Out" Linkage etc. (When the 4-Speed is placed in Reverse, the Steering Wheel Locks). The Car is equipped with a 12 Bolt Posi Rear which was "rebuilt from backing plate to backing plate" with a "new" Eaton Posi Unit; new Bearings; new 3:73 Gears; Axles; and the Rear was powder coated. The Car has Factory Front Power Disc Brakes and Rear Drum Brakes; and Power Steering. A unique option on this Camaro was Factory Rear Air Shocks. The Car has had the original Air Shocks replaced with Factory GM Delco Air Shocks. The Car is equipped with the Factory "Cold Air" or Cowl Induction Hood and the Feature "works". The Relay and Solonoid were replaced along with the rubber Air Cleaner to Hood Seal. The "Flapper" "snaps" open as the throttle is mashed. These Cowl Hoods do "not" work off manifold vacuum as some earlier Models did....the Flapper is operated by a solonoid that is activated by "throttle position". It works like a charm on this Car. The Car is equipped with the Factory Floor Console with all Factory Original Gauges including Fuel; Ammeter; Oil Pressure; and Temperature Gauges. All Gauges are "Original" and all the Gauges Work. The Car is equipped with a "Low Fuel" idiot Light in the Dash Cluster which also works. The Dash Cluster contains the "Original" AC Delco Speedometer and Tachometer; along with a "Clock" between the two Instrument Pods. The Speedo and Tach are in 100% operating condition. The Clock currently is not working, perhaps a wire or fuse is all it would take to make operable? Here's another "amazing" feature of this great Car...the Interior is completely Intact and 100% Original from the Midnight Green Factory Console, to the Dash-Pad to the Door Panels; to the Carpeting; to the Seat upholstery to the Roof Liner..."ALL ORIGINAL" and 100% complete and in un-damaged condition. The "only" blemish to the original condition Interior is a couple small holes in the Roof Liner behind the Passenger Seat but these are barely noticible unless pointed out and do not detract from the 100% original appearance of this Car's fantastic Interior. Original Factory Headrests on the front bucket Seats and "all" Seat Belts and Shoulder Belts are present. The Passenger Seat and Back Seat don't appear to have been used, and if they were, they were used very little. The Camaro is currently trimmed out as an SS/RS 350 Car. Per the X-11 Code on the Cowl Tag, the Car is or could be an SS350 with special Trim. I don't have the Protecto Plate to quantify exactly what this Car came with. The Hide-a-way Headlights work 100% and work off manifold pressure as they are supposed to. They also work properly from the in-Dash Headlight Switch, again, as they are supposed to. The rear Back-Up Lights are in the Lower Valance below the raer Bumper as they appear on all 1st Generation RS Camaro's. There is "no rust" anywhere on this Car. The Car was Factory undercoated back in 1969 and it shows. The Rocker Panels (painted gloss black on this Car), are gorgeous with no rust, no holes, no corrosion etc. The "original" Floor Pans are all intact with no rot or rust anywhere. The Trunk Floor is 100% with original spatter paint still in evidence. The rear Shock Towers in the Truck are solid with no signs of any damage. I replaced the 5-leaf Multi-Leaf rear Springs in 2001 when I had the Read End Unit out of the Car for re-building. The front Coils are "original". New upper and lower Ball Joints in early 2000 or 2001. New Pittman Arm. The Car does "not" need any sheet metal work. New Factory original style single largeTransverse Muffler (mounted lengthwise) behind the rear axle with dual Exhaust pipes. Please note: This Camaro is equipped with the special Metal re-inforcement Plate that is welded to the rear framerail and only found on Cars equipped with "Factory Installed Dual Exhaust". This small Plate was welded to the frame to allow for the Exhaust Hanger to be attached. If your Camaro doesn't have this "plate" welded to the Frame...it didn't leave the Factory with Dual Exhaust, therefore it was either a six cylinder or or 307 CI Car. THIS CAMARO HAS THE PLATE AND FACTORY DUAL EXHAUST....! All original "Glass" including original front "tinted" Winsdhield; original rear Window, and original Door Windows. This Camaro is a Multiple Show Winner and the Lucky Buyer will receieve "ALL" the Trophies the Car has won over the Years including several "Best Of Class"; Best "Stock" 1969 Camaro; The Mayors Choice Award; The Peoples Choice Award and many more. They Trophies will go with the Car as I'll have no use for them once the Car is sold. Don't miss out on this beautiful, gorgeous "original" mostly Numbers Matching 1969 Camaro. It is an eye turner no matter where you drive it. BEST OF ALL....IT'S A "TURN KEY OPERATION"....ready to get in, start up...and go "Cruisin"..! It Needs "Nothing"...This Car is a great Investment with the Nos. Matching Block and Date Code Correct Muncy M-21 4-Speed. The only minor issue with the Car is that it needs the Black Stripe on the Front Header Panel buffed out. There is a very small "trace" of Frost Green overspray in the Black Ralley Stripe on the Header Panel. This never bothered me but I provide full disclosure on everything I sell. Some years back I had the front clip touched up from road dings and normal wear and the masking paper lifted during spraying and a very fine mist of overspray got onto the Black stripe.....very minor issue....and that's pretty much it. I only have a few photos to post right now because it's "winter" here in the Northeast and the Car is under wraps for Winter, and I certainly wasn't expecting to have my beloved Camaro up for sale at this time but some issues have forced me into selling my "pride and joy" now. I will post more "overall pictures" during the upcoming weekend but you can get the feel for the magnificent condition of this Car from what I have posted here tonight. If you would like to any specific close-ups of anywhere on the Car please specifiy what you'd like to see and send me an e-mail address of where to send them. My Car is priced well below some similarly equipped Camaros which are no where as near "original" and "pristine" as my Car is. Thanks for looking and Good Luck. I'm sure I'll be "updating" the Listing as I think of things to add. Check out my regular e-bay listings for some great Deals on some great Gibson and PRS and Taylor Guitars. Don't miss out on one sweet "cherry" 1969 Camaro...they don't show up in this "original" condition very often and when they very rarely do....they're not in this beautiful condition; and they are priced beyond most people's means. This Camaro is very fairly priced for the condion and originality of the Car. PLEASE NOTE: SHIPPING BY MOTOR CARRIER or OTHER MEANS OF DELIVERY IS THE "SOLE RESPONSIBILTY" of the "BUYER". The CAR nor the TITLE will be made available until "Payment in Full" in received. Payment method preferred is by "APPROVED BANK CHECK" or BANK MONEY ORDER.
