Vehicle Detail
A gorgeous 1969 Honda CB750 earlier Diecast model– just a few hundred off from the Sandcast. VIN CB750-1008903, Motor CB750E-1008898 – 8,313 original miles. This is a real vintage beauty, that I’ve owned for 10 years. Thought I’d keep it forever but as I approach 67, it’s time to let it go. Over the years the bike has been totally upgraded with proper NOS Honda parts. Many new items, or original items that were re-chromed. Body parts were re-painted to the original stock color. The bike has no dings or dents anywhere, chrome is super. Some of the new NOS Honda parts are left & right control switches, grips, handlebars, blinkers, HM300 exhaust set, exhaust flanges, heat shields and fittings, mirrors, rubber parts, fork boots, hoses, plus several other items. The old unstamped pipes/muffers were beyond help and are long gone. The tires are new, just a bit old now. I’ve only put 231 miles on the bike after it was completed eight years ago. It has new front and rear sprockets and chain. I’ve had the bike in air conditioned storage over the last 4 years and haven’t ridden it. I cleaned out the tank, Installed a new battery, removed the cleaned the carbs, cleaned out the front brake caliper, changed the oil, put in new plugs, checked the valve clearances, synched the carbs and checked the points. I did a very quick tune on the bike, so you will need to spend some time getting it dialed it. I took the bike for a short ride just to be sure everything was ok and it will need a bit of adjustment. The bike shifts fine and pulls good in all gears. Bike doesn’t blow any smoke. Four years ago I had it dialed in perfectly but it took me quite a while to tune it, so I’ll leave that to the new owner. Everything works on the bike, lights (high/low beams), brake lights, blinkers, tach, speedo, new Honda front brake pads, rear brakes, electric starter, kicker, horn etc. The winkle tank is great, the front fender does not have the rear cut, but the fender on the bike is what came with it so I just had it re-chromed along with the rear fender. Lots of original number 8 bolts. Overall the bike is in great shape as illustrated in the pictures. To cover all the things you can’t see – I’ll be very detailed so there are no surprises for the new owner. The chrome covers on the back of the tach & speedo are original and have a few scratches but still look fine. The air box, had a crack in the front that was repaired but has re-cracked, you can’t see it unless you pull the carbs and air box. The trip reset knob is bent a bit and you need to remove the rear chrome plate to reset it. I was going to try and straighten it out but it never bothered me so I left it alone. The 4 little air hoses that connect to the carbs and run over the air box are missing, just haven’t had time to replace them. One tiny stone chip of the front of the tank. A few scratches on the face of the alternator cover. A small nick (1/8”) in the seat cover lower left front. The gas cap is new, but not the original cap for the tank, also I replaced the engine side cover bolts with the easier to remove allen head bolts. I may have the old cap and the side cover bolts either here or back in Michigan. I’ll be happy to send them along if I can find them at some point in time. That’s about it. The spokes are nice, but need some polishing which I hate to do so that’s your task. The rims are original and the chrome is nice, a few little spots here and there, but no tire change gouges or marks. The bike comes with the items shown in the photo – toolkit, owners manual, Honda parts book, a old 1969 Cycle World magazine, that had the review of the new 1969 Honda CB750. A few pictures/brochures, 3 extra keys with the proper plugs for the recessed ignition, the original warranty book, parts manual and a clear Florida Title. NO OFFERS PLEASE – I simply won’t respond.
