You are bidding on a 1943 Ford Jeep GPW in good condition. It is mostly original with all original running gear. It has a 4 cylinder flathead engine, three speed standard transmission and 4 wheel drive with high and low ranges. It has locking hubs on the front axle. The Jeep has been converted to 12 volts. The starter was rewound to accept 12 volts. It has a Ford type alternator. The wheels have been changed to white spokes with new tires. The tires have less than 1,000 miles on them and 600 of those were being towed to a hunting camp. There is a tow bar included and an unused and installed 8,000 pound winch on the front. There is no rear seat but there is a tool box in place of the seat. The vehicle runs and drives great but as you may be aware, the top speed is very limited. This year jeep was not meant to be driven on today's highways. This is an awesome off road vehicle and lots of fun to drive. The 4 wheel drive works very well as does the high/low transfer case. The clutch and brakes are in good condition. The emergency brake cable needs to be replaced and is currently not operational. The paint job is poor but looks good at 100 feet! There are many chips and some peeling of the paint. Please review the photos. I may have missed a few but not intentionally. The Jeep has the original front seats and guages (as far as I can tell) They all work including the speedometer. I have no idea if the miles are correct but the speedo shows 3,318. Per the photos, there are two electric windshield wipers. There is a convertible top in very good condition. The doors are removeable as is the top. There is also a "bimini" type top included.
