Vehicle Detail
Vintage 1959 Chevy El Camino. Black exterior and interior. Runs and drives excellent. Clear title, currently licensed in Kansas. I bought this Elky 3+ years ago from California owner. Have now retired and am selling vehicles. Elky has been garage kept and driven mainly for errands and cruising. Have over $18K invested. Not sure of actual vehicle or engine mileage. Engine is 305 V-8. If prior owner was correct the engine should have around 70,000. miles. Automatic transmission with column shifter, shifts smoothly. A little rear end whine at higher speeds but runs great. Body is straight and in very good shape - no active rust. Tried to include lots of photos. Had repainted, gloss black with some gold specks in the paint. A few hairline cracks and imperfections but body and paint look great. Underneath is solid. I treated entire underside with POR-15 rust inhibitor. If you look underneath, on the inside you can see where some prior body work was done on the lower portion of the left rear wheelwell and some work on interior floor. - Bed is solid. Black interior, carpet, and headliner. Bucket seats from T-Bird with black covers. Under doors are solid and rust free. Added new steering wheel, new retro AM/FM radio with box speakers behind seats. Headlights, tailights, turn signals, heater, wipers all work. Speedometer works but registers approximately 5 mph over actual speed. Since I bought The Beast I have replaced the wheels, had it aligned, added new low profile tires, new retro hubcaps, new battery, new mufflers and complete pipes (dual glass packs growl just right). Replaced all 4 springs, put new ball joints, brakes, tie rods and bushings in front and new wheel cylinders all around. Added new fan blade, belts and hoses, engine cowl, thermostat, heater core, wiper motor and blades, carb kit, antenna, floor mats, bed liner mat, and more. This Elky is not perfect and is not a $35K show car but The Beast is a great cruiser right now and with some TLC it will only get better. A real head turner and conversation piece whenever I drive her. I added a few photos from the Sept. Goodguys Show at Kansas Speedway where more people gathered to look at her over cars worth 3 times more. The Beast is available for inspection.
