Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on my 1965 Buick Skylark with matching numbers. I bought this car to drive / restore but do not have the time or desire to complete the project. I will do my best to point out the BAD and not sugar coat the car in an attempt to mislead anyone or hide anything. This car was restored (amatuer) in the early 80s and has been sitting ever since. Drivetrain- The original, numbers matching 401 engine is in the car along with the transmission and factory positraction 10 bolt rear. The car will start and run but it idles a little rough. I have only run the car using a hose from the fuel pump to a bottle of gasoline as I suspect the fuel tank will need to be flushed (from sitting). The compression is good on all cylinders (no stuck valves, rings, etc) and it does not smoke. The car goes into gear, forward and reverse and moves fine under its own power. There are no excessive oil leaks etc. The water pump has a hole in the bottom of it and leaks coolant. I am including a new water pump in the auction, you will just have to install it. I bled the brakes and they worked until a line (rusty) split and leaked the fluid out. This prevented me from road testing or driving more than in and out of the garage. The car is currently not drivable until this is repaired. The carburetor needs to be rebuilt as well. Body- The body has had some work done to it,and it needs work as well. The car is not the most straight thing in the world but a magnet will stick everywhere you try it, some spots stronger than others as it does have filler in it. the floors have had some work done to them as well as the rear body mounts (very common problem with these) and could probably be gone over and done alot nicer. The doors shut nice and they appear fairly solid, the hood has filler in it and will need to be replaced in my opinion if you are looking for a show car.The vinyl top is really nice, its the factory grain and fits tight everywhere with no bubbles anywhere under it. Interior- The interterior has been replaced, it is the factory pattern but not the factory colors. The door panels and seats are really nice, there is a hole in the bottom half of the back seat down low (easy fix, i took a pic of it). The headliner has been replaced as well as the carpeting. I will make sure the car has 4 tires that will hold air for the transport and assist in any way I can. I would prefer any potential buyer look at the car and make sure it is for them before bidding. I am being as honest as I possibly can with my pictures and description. If you have any question that I have not answered already, please feel free to call me 410-643-1515 Bill
