Up for auction is my Grandfathers El Camino. He bought it new in 1978 and used it to drive back and forth to our lake cabin for many years. It now has 91700 miles. Over the past 5 to 6 years, this El Camino has been sitting in his gargage because he can no longer drive. It is totally original with the exception of the hub caps. It has a V8 engine, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and still has his CB radio in it. I replaced the battery and she started up with a bit of starter fluid. It is a bit hard to start after it has sat for a few days, but once started and warmed up, it starts and runs great. I am sure the carburetur needs a bit of cleaning and the gasoline in the tank is old. I also have all the original sales paperwork and service tickets from the dealership he bought it from. The body is very straight for its age but it does have a small dent in the drivers side rear quarter panel. The paint is also original and is peeling on the hood and top.
