Vehicle Detail

If this listing looks familiar to some of you it probably is. I purchased this wonderful car from a fellow ebayer back on the 5th of January with the intent of bringing her to sunny California. Unfortunately I did not do my homework on federalized, imported vehicles and emissions regulations here in CA. The economic and logistical burden smogging and registering this car in CA poses to me is far greater than I can afford at the moment. (as it stands this car will NOT pass smog in CA without a new CAT and/or other mods). If you live in California; purchase at your own risk. If you live in the other 49 states; she's definitely for you! Unfortunately the car being listed was intended as my daily driver. I had listed and sold a 1999 740IL in stunning condition to finance the purchase of this rare and compelling e23 saloon. Facing my current lack of transportation I have no choice but to take the hit and price this car for a quick sale. In just over a week I shelled out $2850 for the vehicle and another $850 to get it here! My asking price sits painfully below that. Look at my feedback, read my reviews and ask questions! If this looks too good to be true you can rest assured that someone else has already taken the bath. Come and get it!! Here are pieces of the other 2 seller's adds for this vehicle. I don't feel the need to reinvent the wheel on this one. They are/were both very good at describing the vehicle accurately. Nothing has changed in my 24 hour ownership experience. Ask as many questions as you like: 1985 BMW 735i 5-Speed Manual Euro Executive. Rare 5 speed manual transmission 735i, with 212,000 miles born in Europe and imported as new via gray market, original papers included. Bahama Beige on Nutrina leather interior which was not available state-side. Heated seats. Sunroof. Ordered with limited slip differential, sport steering wheel, and executive package. As a bonus it has that crazy Zender-looking body package. Runs and drives great. It is a comfortable ride--no wandering or excessive vibration at any speed, and gets 25 +\- mpg highway cruising at 70 mph @ ~2,500 rpm. The clutch shifts as most 80's BMW's do--that is, not as smooth as a modern car but not sloppy and it has quite a long throw compared to the smaller E30 and imports of the same period. It doesn't use any coolant or oil and doesn't leave a mess. The battery is a new Interstate 72 month. Fresh brakes on all corners with good tread on the tires. New OE cooling fan/clutch assembly. Although the AC is R134a converted and the compressor spins when you kick it on, it does not cool down (yes, it has full charge and holds full charge). One of several things on my hit list I've yet to tinker with. blower fan works intermittently. all vacuum-actuated vent functions work. A few other items on that list are.. Replace BMW logo center caps. There is a hole in the rear passenger seat bottom that needs attention a new oem factory rear bench leather seat cover is included (see photo). The RR passenger window switch does not work. However, the window does. The retractable rear shade takes quite a while to retract (like, overnight). I usually leave it up. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE. If you are looking for a show ready car this is not the one. It does have unlimited potential with a bit time & effort. As is... it's a reliable fun to drive daily driver that gets lots of looks & compliments. It is very rare, collectible & possibly the only one like it in the states. Rear bumper is pushed in on driver's side, see pictures Scrape along passenger side rear, see pictures I'm sure there are other things that it needs though they do not come to mind. This is not garage queen, show car, or pure classic. It's just a neat old BMW that you can drive, is very rare but cheap to maintain, and is wonderfully reliable. vehicle sold as is. buyer is responsible for pickup of vehicle. deposit of $500 due immediately via paypal balance due within 48 hours of auction close unless other arrangements have been made with me prior to bidding.
