Re Listing after NON PAYING BIDDER.Please bid to own the car, not window shop. For your consideration is this beautiful 1965 Plymouth Satellite 2 door hardtop.First off, when I say the car is original... I don't mean like a lot of other sellers mean.... original... "oh except it was painted, and the interior is new".. guesswhat, that car is not original anymore! This car is a good 90% original as it came from the factory... read further for complete description.Featuring the wide block 318 matching #'s V8, and Torque Flight automatic console shift. My reserve is very reasonable, I am not desperate to sell the car, but want the right buyer to enjoy it. If anyone has been tracking sales of first generation Satellites on ebay recently, you may have seen an "original 67" that sold a few weeks ago, for 6K dollars...it was indeed "all original", but in need of a complete gutting and restoration...so not much point in advertising it as original, other than the sheetmetal and drivetrain. This car lived its entire life in the suburbs of Seattle, it was really a small town car.2 owners before I acquired it in the summer of 2011. The daughter of the 2nd owner decided to sell the car after her mother passed. It was her daily driver car for most of its life, always garaged and driven very little in winter, as the condition attests to.I flew up, and drove the car home 800+ miles home without a single complaint.. never overheated in stopped holiday traffic, and handled the central valley heat of 100+ degrees better than I did! (no ac obviously, as most cars from the Northwest were not fitted with ac back in the 60's.) The only bits of love and maintenance the car needed, was a general tune up, oil change, and new tires/alignment. Exterior: Still wearing its beautiful red metallic paint from the factory, all except the drivers lower front fender which appears to have been repaintedbefore after some sort of minor accident, they didn't get the shade 100% in certain light, so its really the only flaw in the cars paint. All other panels are original, and still look fantastic for 45 year old paint.Mostly rust free, although you can never call a 45 year old car completely rust free. There are 2 spots on the very bottom of the rear wheel wells, where the metal has had some minor perforation, the size of a quarter.I have detailed pics on my album, you can not see any part of the slight rusting from anywhere, unless you are underneath the car.Keep in mind the car is 45 years old, with original paint, so there are minor flaws throughout the body. A couple small spots where the primer is showing through, again, smaller than a dime.Body sheet metal is very strait, with only the smallest dings, and bumps from 45 years of use and enjoyment.Glass except for the windshield is all original. There is a small rock chip in the windshield, on the passenger lower side.. again a pic is available inthe exterior album. Still wearing all its original hubcaps, all in very good to excellent condition. All trim is in great shape, as well as emblems. You may notice the driver side "Satellite" emblem was broken when I took most of the pics, it has since beenreplaced with a good proper used emblem. All chrome is good to excellent, with a great shine, and no rust or major dings of any kind. Grille is in good shape as well. Trunk mat is original and pristine, but slightly brittle after these years.Trunk pan looks as if it was treated for slight rust some time ago, as evidenced by the black paint. An ever so slight amount of surface rust has re appearedprobably since it was treated many many years ago... new owner can treat as he sees fit. Interior: All I can say is fantastic.Dash is pristine, console is great, with normal wear. Console lid was just recovered, looks great.Front buckets are original, with only a side panel correctly matched and replaced on the drivers side.Carpet is in good shape, with some fading of course.Large correct vintage vinyl floor mats cover the front and back to protect the carpet.Back seat is great as well, with only the slightest bit of wear showing near the top of the package tray, after years of sun.One small hole the size of a grain of rice is all you can notice.I was going to have a custom vinyl valance made to cover the top of the seats just to protect it, but have not done so since Ihave decided to sell.Headliner is pristine, as are the door panels.Driver side armrest is slightly cracked on the bottom where it attaches to the plastic armrest base. All gauges function as normal.Speedometer has a bit of a bounce, and should be tended too, as it reads slow as well.Heater control cable has just been replaced and the heat control module lubed and is working great. One thing done to the interior by previous owner was to add the CD/am/fm radio under dash, with speakersmounted in the rear package tray. System sounds great, so I left it there, and the new owner can decide if they want to return it to original or keep it.Original am radio is still untouched. There was also a small digital clock mounter under dash as well, that I would just take out if it was me. Mechanical: We come to the only other modification done to the car over the years. The second owners husband wanted a bit more zip than the 318 2 barrel offered, so he installed an edelbrock 4 barrel manifoldalong with an edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, with electric choke. The 318, and torque flight transmission are both original to the car.The engine runs great, starts right up, even after sitting for extended periods, electric choke works perfect. The only thing about using the electric choke, is not having the heat pipe connected to the carburetor results in the enginebeing a little cold blooded. Runs and starts fine, just doesn't like being asked to accelerate too briskly until up to properrunning temperature, which takes hardly any time at all, so never an issue with me. Console mounted shifter works just as it did from new, transmission shifts wonderfully.Brakes are non power assisted, and work just fine. Front's were done recently, back's are unknown but function just like they should. No pulling or grabbing when stopping hard.Steering is power assisted, and dead on. Cruises down straight and true, newly aligned with brand new cooper white wall radials just installed.Windshield wipers work fine as well. I recently had the intake manifold bolts re gasketed, as there was some minor oil seepage from a couple of them, now it is sealed wonderfully. No other known leaks or drips, although there really is no so thing as a 45 year old car that is 100% leak free. So that's the car. More details than most cars listed here, but I don't want to hide things or try and mislead anyone. Why am I selling it?I have several classics that I enjoy, and truth be told, the bucket seats on the Satellite don't fit me well. I am 6'7" all legs, so its just a little cramped for my frame. All my others are bench seat cars, which work better for me.Car was pictured with WA plates, and has since been registered in my name with CA current tags/plates. $300 deposit via paypal required within 24 hours of auction close. I am located just east of San Francisco, local serious buyers are welcome to inspect.I will be happy to assist with shipping, but it is the buyers responsibility to arrange and pay for. PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR A LINK TO THE EXTERNAL PHOTO ALBUM WITH DOZENS MORE PICS! A few additional notes: Just took her out for a drive today, after not being driven for 3+ weeks, fired right up.Couldn't drive more than a block without someone staring, or waving! I was not able to mount the Satellite emblem on the drivers side front fender. My hands are not skinny enough, nor do I have the right tools to get the old one off.2 good condition emblems will come with the car. Forgot to mention the exhaust is single, original design with a small glass pac muffler... usually not my kind of thing, but actually sounds great on this car. Took some additional pics of misc things, headliner etc. posted on my exterior album. I have a couple short video of engine running, email me for a link. Forgot to mention.I bought a beautiful original Mopar wood steering wheel for the car, but did not install it obviously since I decided to sell. The Wheel is in great shape, and cost me $380 including shipping. If the reserve is met, I will offer the steering wheel to the winning bidder for $200.If the winner is not interested, I will list the steering wheel as a normal auction.
