1997 Lexus LX-450 The Lexus version of the Landcruiser. Produced from 1996-1997. This vehicle was Toyota's flagship SUV. It has a powerful 4.5L inline 6 cyl and full time 4wd. I have owned several of these and can honestly say you'll be hard pressed to find a better SUV. In 1998 Toyota redesigned the Landcruisers and went to a V-8 motor. Why they would go from the battle proven 6 cyl is beyond me. This drivetrain has proven reliability beyond 250K miles. It is a Tank...virtually indestructable and can take you anywhere your heart desires. I recently bought my wife a new Tahoe and inherited her old one. This car is now surplus and spends it's days sitting in my driveway. It's time for another family to enjoy her! The Good: Everything is operational (no warning lights or problems) 4wd works great New General Grabber HTS tires (12000 miles ago) + Front end alignment New Bilstein shocks (12000 miles ago) March 2011 New Brakes November 2011 New Battery Body panels are all straight without incident, Cd/Radio works great, power antenna is fully operational, power sunroof is fully operational as well as power windows. 3rd row seating (vehicle can fit 7 people) This unit has the optional differential lockout The Bad: Exterior paint has numerous rock chips and or scratches (still very presentable) Front turn signal lens cracked Small oil leakage (very common but unremarkable as oil was changed every 3000 miles) Interior leather showing signs of age (One spot directly in the middle of the second row seating, under the hand rests where I had a box of chlorine for the pool that leaked on the leather and made it weak) Summary: This vehicle runs strong, drives straight and has plently of life left in her.
