Vehicle Detail

This is a nearly SHOWROOM NEW 1977 Mercury Cougar XR7 that has only 4,154 documented original miles on her. This is a 100% rust free car. She has been stored as a collectors car all of her life. She is currently stored in a humidity controlled museum setting. The temperature is at a constant 70 degrees. This vehicle is in exceptionally good condition for her age. This car drives and operates as new. I am selling this car for an older friend who has a collection of cars but knows nothing about computers. This car is located on the west side of Indianapolis, Indiana in an old new car dealer’s showroom turned museum. We would allow inspection to qualified buyers with a rating of 10 or more during the auction. We do not have time for tire kickers. We do have title in hand. We have 2 other collector cars on ebay listed with no reserve. Item number 230727787426 and 230727769407 Check them out and bid with confidence. I ALWAYS call what is wrong with my items that I sell on eBay. I call it like it is and show pictures of any issues. There are no secrets with my listings. That is why my rating is 100%. I am unaware of anything else that is wrong with the car. The paint shines and looks to be completely originalPanels have original VIN stickers on them and it does not appear that the car was ever in an accident. The weather strip and the exterior rubber is in good shape. The car drives with no shakes, rattles or unusual wind noise. All lights and wiring operate properly. There is a ding in one piece of wheel opening molding (picture) The tires are in good shape and have 70% life remaining. The windshield seems original and had no rock stars or cracks. The spare tire and jack are intact. The car is serviced and ready to go. Everything under hood looks correct. The belts, hoses, filters etc. look to be in good shape. The under carriage of the car is extremely clean. (pictures) Finally, this is a no reserve auction. The high bidder at auction end will be the new owner. Don’t email me and ask what I will take for the Car. Bid on it. This is an auction. Please have permission from your wife, husband, father, mother, sister, brother, partner, banker, bookie or anyone else that could halt the purchase BEFORE you bid. If you are the high bidder you have a contractual obligation to complete the purchase for the auction price. Being the high bidder does not give you the right to look at the car and see if you want to buy it. IF YOU ARE THE HIGH BIDDER YOU ARE THE NEXT OWNER. Of course if I have grossly misrepresented this car I would not expect you to buy it. Money must clear my bank and be in my account for me to release the car and the free and clear title. On Jan-08-12 at 11:56:04 PST, seller added the following information: For anyone that doubts the quality of this car. It was purchased from a live Mecum Auction in Indianapolis, IN in May of 2010. The Hammer price was $13,000. Add 8% to that for the buyers sales fee and the price is $14,000. The owner of this car registered it and paid tax on it so add another $1000 to that. He has $15,000 in this car. Here is a link to the Auction listing. http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=SC0510-90803 Bid to win. This car is unbelievable. On Jan-10-12 at 07:14:28 PST, seller added the following information: CAR VIEWING/SHOWING. If you would like to inspect this car prior to bidding you are welcome. When: This Saturday, January 14th from 11 am until noon. Where: 751 North Shadeland Avenue Indianapolis, IN (In the Church Brothers building) You can come and inspect this car and the 2 others that we are selling with no reserve. We will only be there from 11 am until Noon this Saturday. Don’t be late. On Jan-12-12 at 20:40:41 PST, seller added the following information: Found out some more cool stuff about this car. It has the rare option of a 351 engine. The standard engine was a 302. I also wanted to point out that I posted the Vin incorrected on this listing. The second digit is an A not an 8. On Jan-16-12 at 14:11:55 PST, seller added the following information: There have been several questions about options. The car is an XR7 so it has power steering, power brakes and a rear stabilizer bar. This car also has tilt wheel and cruise control. The "different dash" is because it has the ultra rare Rally Sport Tach and Guage package. The Base MSRP on a 77 Cougar was $5603. This car had a $7301 MSRP so it is a highly optioned car. The A/C is cold an as I have described. EVERYTHING on this car works as new. NOTHING HAS BEEN MODIFIED. Bid with confidence. This has to be one of the lowest mileage 70's Cougar on the Planet. No one will ever get a chance to own a car like this again. EVER.
