Vehicle Detail
1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 convertible. No Reserve. 351C 2V. Auto. PS. Factory front power disc brakes. A/C. I bought this car several years ago and have driven it only occasionally since then. Top was brand new and professionally installed in 2010 including new weatherstrip, well liner and parade boot. Upholstery looks to be original and is in good shape. I replaced the carpet, door panels, ¼ trim panels and kick panels in 2010 also. Interior is in nice shape. I completely went through the brake in 2010 and replaced everything but the hard lines. Shocks were also replaced. The engine was tuned at the local Mustang shop and runs great. Transmission shifts well. I have taken this car to a few local shows and driven some errands in it and have never had any trouble. All the gauges work. Top goes up and down smoothly. Heater works but only blows out of the defroster ducts. I have not tried the A/C but everything is there. Bring your own plates and drive this car home. The bodywork on this car was done long before I bought it. Paint is in good shape, above average driver quality. Call it a “5 footer”. When I replaced the carpet I saw that the pans had been patched, and the trunk pans also have been patched. I do not know about the rest of the car, but it is safe to assume that other work has also been done on it. Chrome/brightwork is good but this is a little peeling on the left front bumper. One small chip in the windshield. This is a nice daily driver quality car, not a high point show car. I have had a lot of fun with this car, but I have a roving eye when it comes to these old cars and other cars have caught my attention. Only so much money in the bank and room in the garage so this one has to go. Starting bid is extremely low for this car and this is a No Reserve auction. High bidder wins. Clear TX title in my name. This car is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS and WITH ALL FAULTS. $1000 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit required within 48 hours. Remainder due in 7 days. I can store the car for a short period of time if needed, but full payment is still due within 7 days.
