Vehicle Detail

From the little old town of Pampa, Texas I have a true Lone Star State Survivor, a 1959 Ford Ranchero. 1959 was the third year production run and the final year of the full size Ranchero. Arguably the best year by many with it's broad grille filled with slim stars, and quad headlamps nestled in big fender housings. Little vestigial fins, punctuated by backup lights, and surmounted jumbo round taillights. The original owner opted for more power than the standard six cylinder models that many were so equipped. This original, unrestored Ranchero was ordered with the more powerful 292 cubic inch V8 engine that rose to fame in the iconic Thunderbird lineup. The optional Fordomatic two speed transmission was also an ordered upgrade. The additional Kansas City assembly plant factory options are heater, two speed wipers with washers, heavy duty radiator, 3.56 rear axle ratio, and optional wheel covers. The icing on the cake is the original Ford factory paint code A of Raven Black over Red interior, a striking and highly sought after factory color combination. The odometer reads 14,182 miles. The last Texas registration sticker was from 1981. This Ranchero was last started and driven in Texas in 2006. However, the original Ford 292 engine spins freely. In summary, this original unrestored 1959 Ford Ranchero is a worthy restoration candidate. It is as complete as they come, (even all of it's original FOMOCO window glass is present), V8 powered, and delivered in an ultra desirable factory color combination. Remember this was also the year that Chevrolet rolled out the all new ElCamino to compete with Ford's highly successful Ranchero. This adds to the mystique and collectibility of the model year 1959. I have over 100 high definition digital photographs, including many undercarriage shots, available to any and all interested parties. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged.
