This is a rust free pickup that was sold new in Florida and except for trips thruout the USA has been here since. It's dark red paint shines as new. It's a great, comfortable truck to carry a couple and their side in camper (as we used it) or pull a fifth wheel or travel trailer. Our ownership story follows. In 2004 we were about to place an order for a F-350. We had specific requirements which resulted in a combination of options that was not available at area Ford dealers. It's purpose was to carry a slide in pickup camper to take the two of us on a two month dream retirement trip to Alaska from our home in Florida. I picked up a local car shopper and this 2003 with approximately 7800 miles was advertised at a truck dealer in Bradenton known for selling low millage pristine trucks. We took a ride up there and except for not having extendable mirrors, was exactly what we were going to order, right down to the color. The truck was originally sold in Zephyrhills Florida and was a repossession. We bought the truck and started shopping for a slide in camper. The trucks first year was undoubtably the hardest in it's life. The wear in the bed indicated that the original owner was somehow involved in construction. The following years it carried our Shadow Cruiser 8 1/2 foot camper all over the country and eventually on our dream trip to Alaska. The 5.4 liter gas V8 had plenty of power and we averaged 13.2 MPG on that trip. Since then it has served as a second vehicle, making trips to the Home Depot and to bring home an occasional load of top soil or shell. It's a great looking truck with its dark red paint, XLT trim and gray interior. The captains seats were great on our extended trips. I'm one who likes to shift for myself so the 6 speed manual was a must. PW, PL, PS, Power mirrors, cruise, tilt wheel, AC, and single disc CD radio complete the comforts. It was not smoked in during our ownership. The minuses? Although there is a bed liner, it was cut at the front of the bed to be able to mount camper hold downs. There is a small dent on top of the hood where a falling rock hit us in British Columbia. See pictures of these areas. The tires will need replacing soon.
