Ah, the Summer of 1962, gas was a mere 31 cents per gallon, the hit show "The Beverly Hillbillies" made it's debut, and the first installment of the iconic James Bond series "Dr. No" appears at the local drive in. It is also a big year for the newly restyled Chevrolet Impala, as production figures are headed for a record 704,900 units while Chevrolet celebrates it's Golden Anniversary. Up for auction, a 1962 Chevrolet Impala Wagon. This two owner stationwagon has traveled a mere 59,948 miles in it's 50 year history. It was ordered new and produced in the Flint, Michigan assembly plant with the following factory options: 230 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine, two speed powerglide automatic transmission, power rear tailgate window, two speed wipers with washers, AM radio, backup lights, and whitewall tires with full wheel covers. The wagon sports a recent repaint in Roman Red while retaining it's original red interior. It still retains all of it's original safety plate glass including the original windshield. All of which are in excellent condition with the exception of the original windshield which has a crack. The mechanics are in excellent working order, as you'd expect a true 59K mile automobile to be. Even the green "cold" engine light is still fully functional. Simply get in and go. This two owner wagon never misses a beat. Classic Chevy wagons are hot. Have fun loading up the family for a local or long distance road trip, or remove the original Chevy straight six powerplant for an injected V8 engine and you're on your way to a unique restomod.
