Vehicle Detail

1953 Chevy. This old Chevy is a jump in and drive. The gentleman I got from drove it to work 2 or three times a week, (approximately 60 miles each way.) I have drove it only a few miles, but I would not be afraid to start out on a trip with it. It is a twenty footer. He owned it 8 and ½ years and it was restored when he got it. The body restoration was amateurish to begin with it now has the wear of being used on a regular basis. The gentleman had 13 grandchildren and loved to take them to cruise ins and week end outings in it. The interior has no tears but shows the wear of having little kids climbing in and out . It is a nice quality fabric (looks like leather, probably good quality of vinyl.) Door panels, seats, headliner, all done in the same fabric and in good condition. Dash is in original color and could stand paint. Seat belts have been installed. Heater and radio has been removed but I have them. All the gauges have been replaced and the car has been converted to 12 volt. It still has the original drive train sporting the 235 with the power glide transmission. The engine is real clean and runs great. The trans goes into gear and shifts like it’s supposed to. It has good tires with Rally wheels. It has air shocks in the rear. The steering is good and tight and the brakes stop it just like they did when the car was new. The stainless is all in good condition. The bumpers have been painted,(I have removed the front but still have it.) and have no dents. It still has the guards on the bumpers. The grill is in excellent condition. All the lights work, (headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals all work.) The paint still shines but it has a film that shows build up on faded paint. The pictures don’t show the color well, it is metallic and a cross somewhere between red and maroon. It has fiberglass in the outer rockers and some in the quarters. It also looks like it has had a couple dents filled with body filler. It looks like it had side molding that has been removed and the holes filled. I have shaved and decked it and coated the area with fat black primer. In giving an honest description of this old car I have beat it up a little, but let me tell you it doesn’t have to hang its head in shame and if you are behind the wheel you can sit proud. It would make a great dependable daily driver and a fun cruiser. It would be a great car to slick up the body, replace the side trim and paint it two tone Hot Rodz flat yellow with white top, with yellow steel wheels and white walls. I like to recreate the cars from my youth, (true nostalgic hot rods and customs from the early 60s) this car fits in perfect. Picture if you will….Working at the neighborhood filling station after school and week-ends, pumping gas and washing windshields saving every penny you can with one single purpose in mind, to own your own your car. There will be no more sharing mom’s station wagon, (or worse yet,) moms little 4dr. Rambler. Summers coming and you’re about to own your own set of wheels!! The car has been spotted and the money has changed hands, the car is yours. But even more has transpired in that moment…you have just earned your freedom and taken your first step toward independence and you are now on your way to becoming a man, someone to be reckoned with. “FREEDOM is finally with-in your grasp. Now, all there is left, is to personalize it. (make it your own if you will) First thing is to shave and deck it. Then get a set of cool wheels, (in this case a set of ralleys would work) And then the thing to do is create a mental to do list. A split manifold and dual exhaust, a 3 carbs intake, a set of American Racing wheels, ( 0r better yet, a set of Cragers) and maybe a floor shifter and my list goes on and my dreams are limitless and boundless……, I OWN A CAR!!!!!!!!! How much is reliving that moment worth. I’m old and coming to the end of my life and those days are just a memory now. But the nice thing about these old cars is that I can put the wife in the seat beside me and cruise down the hi-way and in my mind’s eye…..I am back there….. with-out a care, a sack full of balls, a sexy gal at my side, my own car and the whole world just out in front of me, waiting for me to make my mark on it. JESUS……… JUST TO BE 16 AGAIN and cruising Frisch’s on a Saturday night. I buy, sell, and TR@DE these old cars as a hobby. Call me with any questions, Dennis 937-533-1831 PS I’ve put a starting price on these cars rather than listing it with a reserve only because of fraudulent bidders bidding the car up to reserve only to back out at the last moment. The starting price is my reserve. If you are really interested in the car and you get out bid, you might call me after the auction ends. Odds are that the high bidder might back out.
