Vehicle Detail
*****NO_RESERVE***** Series II, the LAST & the BEST year for the 280ZX, next model was the 1984 300ZX. Carfax Certified, NEVER wrecked, 100% original paint, 1-owner, non-smoker, garage kept, purchased by a 60-yr old man (now 89-yrs old), local Florida car and has NEVER left the state, NEVER been modified in ANY way (NO aftermarket add-ons of ANY kind). I do have atleast 48-more pictures available showing there is NO-RUST on this car anywhere (up or down) and will EMAIL some of them to you if you indicate the location of concern??? (This will only be done for Ebayers with impressive feedback RATINGS, as I've had 12-requests in less than the 1st 4-hours of the listing time) 1983 Nissan 280ZX series II was purchsed NEW on 7/13/83 at Yarbrough Nissan 283 San Marco Avenue St. Augustine Florida 32084. The car was a dealer-trade from Bradenton Datsun City 1611 Cortez Road West Bradenton Florida 33505. Dad surprised me for my 26th B-day, when he asked me to take him to pick-up his new car, and he bought me the 1983 280ZX Turbo model after graduating from FSU, at the same time he purchased this car. I TOTALLED my Turbo in 1985!!! It has the following options, T-bar roof w/tinted glass & sun-shades & storage bags, 5-speed manual overdrive trans, A/C, the following power options, windows, locks, radio ant., side-view mirrors, rack & pinion steering, 4-wheel disc-brakes, 4-wheel independant suspension, alloy wheels, AM/FM radio w/cassette, Quartz digital CLOCK (it even works), rear-defogger & wiper washer. ALL the weatherstripping (including the T-bar roof) from what I can see is FLAWLESS (NO rot), as they were always sprayed with SILICONE. This car is almost Show-Car quality, other than some minor door dents, dings, & minor scrathes (it is 29-yrs old next month) that a Professional Dent-Wizard/Body-Man could easily remove & touch-up for approx. $300.00. Other than the following items, the car is 100% ORIGINAL, battery, spark-plugs,wires, cap & rotor, belts, hoses w/ new OEM clamps, air-cleaner, front & rear brake pads, tires (4-new), A/C system recently up-graded. EVERYTHING functions FLAWLESSLY on this car except the following, the power antenna needs replacement, so the radio gets very-poor reception. This car runs & drives like the day it was NEW, other than having 30-yr. old technology. Engine has NO leaks, ticks, or knocks, Trans. has NO broken teeth, syncros., or clutch slippage (original), ALL the instuments operate flawlessly, power options, inter. & ext. lighting & turn-signal & brake lights, brakes & steering dont pull or shake (tested to 85-mph), shocks, struts, & springs good, exhaust & cat. conv. & emission systems good (original), wipers & washers work (NEEDS wiper blades, never used), horn ok. The car also has the following interior FLAWS, 2-inch crack on the dashboard, some sun damage on the rear trunk hatch panel area, l/r side panel, and the rear carpet has a small damaged area. VERY little if any fading of the interior seats, carpet, & plastic. The oil on the dipstick (as well as the dipstick itself) is as CLEAN as a WHISTLE, as well as looking inside the valve cover oil cap (NO blow-by), its been changed every 6-months since 1996 or the last 15-yrs. or 2,500 miles. The paint, wheels, & chrome shines like NEW!!! I just dont know what else to SAY!!! My father lost his license due to poor eye-sight and I have ALL his cars to sell except 4 that I will keep FOREVER (2 89 Pace-Car/Turbo TTA's, 1 w/71-miles (bought from his good friend Al & Bobby Unser and given to him by the Pontiac Motor Division for driving 1 of the 3 ACTUAL Pace-Cars in the 89 Indy 500 race) lowest know to exist and the other a 22,000-mile 1 0f 15 hard-top w/cloth interior car) he will KEEP 2 of his his Amelia Island/Concours d'Elegance Vintage Show-Cars valued in the six figures category. I will be selling his triple black 1-owner 93 (again, best & last year) Cadillac Allante North-Star V-8 convertable soft-top & OPTIONAL Aluminum hard-top with 100,k miles in MINT showroom condition after 1/1/12 for $7,500 No-reserve or $9,000 with the BIN option. If I wasnt down-sizing my home and I have NO more warehouse space available, or I wouldnt sell either car!!! Terms: The purchaser will receive the automobile, the ORIGINAL Florida title dated 7/13/83, the ORIGINAL owners manuals, the ORIGINAL dealer showroom brochure, the ORIGINAL window sticker, and possibly the ORIGINAL buyers order (if I can find it). ANY & ALL questions or concerns are to be asked NOW, NOT after the SALE. The car is available for viewing, inspections, or test-drives Mon-Fri from 9:00am-5:00pm (w/24-hr. notice). A $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit by Pay-Pal due WITHIN 24-hrs. of the auctions end, remaining balance due WITHIN 3-days by Pay-Pal (YOU will be responsible for the FEES) (this is for your PROTECTION, as well as mine) or by cash-in-person, NO-EXCEPTIONS. I dont have anymore WAREHOUSE-SPACE available and they must go NOW, as they have been OUTSIDE in the damp climate for 2-weeks today. This listing alone will cost me over $200.00. Up to 2-weeks for pick-up, and I will assist with transportation for pick-up, but it is at your COST. I reserve the right to END the listing at ANY time, as it is advertised LOCALLY for $6,500 and I have had 2 local U/C dealer & car collectors try to STEAL it already for $4,000.00. Due to the AGE & MILEAGE, it will be sold AS-IS, w/o any type of warranty expressed or implied... COMPARE this listing to recent listings for other 1983 280ZX's: listing #290631826671 with 116,k SOLD for $6,500 or listing #170740204213 with 56,k for $7,000 (reserve NOT met). Check out my 100% FEEDBACK RATING this year, including my 07 Lexus LX-470, 95 ZR-1 Corvette, and 08 Ford Escape AWD Hybrid & 06 Toyota Pruis Hybrid. VERY-IMPORTANT NOTE: Autoweek Magazine states in their 10/31/11 issue: Increasingly, 1970's & 1980's JAPANESE cars are becoming VERY-collectable, not just for their RARITY, but also-in the case of the 240Z, 260Z, & the 280ZX for their easy-to-live-with temper & high FUN-TO-COST ratio. All of the usual caveats apply before you purchase: MOST of the early Japanese Imports were driven HARD & used as a disposable resource; looking out for RUST is a NECESSITY. It wasn't to long ago that the prevalent attitude was that there NEVER would be a "COLLECTABLE JAPANESE CAR". I don't mean to BORE you with all this, but I have NOTHING to HIDE here and I really wanted to DESCRIBE each & every thing I've discovered with his car. Thank you and Merry X-Mas to all, this could be a GREAT 1st car for a responsible teen to enjoy for many years to come, just as my father has for the last 28-yrs.
