Vehicle Detail
45 MPG, manual, sunroof, power everything, well maintained 2002 Jetta TDI. Have a lot of records for the vehicle. A very reliable daily driver that will keep your gas prices down and still give you tons of power. I am only selling it now because I decided to get a newer diesel vw. For those who don't know much about diesels, suffice it to say that they run longer than a gas engine, get better gas mileage even considering the cost of diesel compared to a Honda Civic. Plus, this is a very fun car to drive - has a lot of torque, runs up hills with ease, has cruise control, AC, and a decent stereo with Aux Inputs as well as a USB input. If you have been looking for TDI's or other diesels you know that there are very few sedans that are as reliable as the Jetta. The automatic's are notorious for failing at about 150K. Seriously, take a poll of all of them out there. But this one here is a manual. In addition, this Jetta has had almost every conceivable routine maintenance item performed including: New Timing Belt (within 30K miles) New Water pump ( within 30K miles) New clutch plate (within 20K miles) New fuel injectors (within 20K miles) Replaced the turbo (within 30K miles) The list goes on, but you get the picture. The previous owner kept pretty good records in a little notebook. Most of the work was done by the mechanic at his work, thus I don't have all of the typical paperwork, although I do have some records from the "shops" that he did use. The previous owner also always used synthetic oil, so I have kept up the same pattern. There are no oil leaks, and no issues with the engine or otherwise. This car is fast and fun to drive, and the worst gas mileage I ever got was 38 mpg average in city and highway mixed driving. I have a clean title in hand. No accidents recorded, no liens, just a clean title in my name. There is one dent in the passenger side front fender. It is about the size of an apple. It happened before me so I don't know what happened. There are other various dings and chips as should be expected. In addition, the paint isn't perfect, various dings and scratches. The back bumper also has some scratches shown in the photos. There is a light that has burnt out on the rear driver side taillight. Happy to answer questions, but please read the entire ad and only ask new questions if any. I will try to answer everything I can. If you have read this entire ad, and understand the benefits of owning a well maintained vehicle, you will not be displeased with this car. Shipping needs to be arranged by the buyer, but I can drive anywhere within 50 miles, also, the SLC airport is very close and if you decide to fly in and drive this car home, I can definitely pick you up. Also, I have no concerns about driving this car across the country. 801 347 3155On Dec-18-11 at 10:50:37 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked to detail the records that I have from an "official" shop versus the records that I do not have from an "official shop." "Official Records" : 1. Turbo switch replaced 7/10/2006 (Mileage: 69,052) 2. Fuel Filter replaced 7/10/2006 (Mileage: 69,052) 3. Glow plug replaced 9/28/2006 (Mileage: 73,583) 4. Turbo replaced 1/15/2010 (Mileage: 131285) 5. Exhaust Manifold Gasket 1/15/2010 (Mileage: 131,285) 6. Glow Plug 1/15/2010 (Mileage: 131,285) 7. Headlight 09/08/2008 (Mileage: 106711) 8. Replaced Fuel Injection Pump (Mileage: 69,052) "Non Official Records" - these were kept by the previous owner in a spiral bound notebook. The work was done by a shop but after hours, without a receipt because it was a friend of the previous owner who did the work. In an attempt to continue the maintenance record keeping, he wrote down the job and the mileage. 1. Oil Change (Mileage: 135K) 2. Fuel Filter (Mileage: 135K) 3. Air Filter (Mileage: 135K) 4. Fuel Injectors (Mileage: 135K) 5. Clutch Replaced (Mileage: 140K) 6. Starter Replaced (Mileage: 145K) 7. Struts Replaced (Mileage: 152K) 8. Fuel Filter (Mileage: 155K) 9. Air Filter (Mileage: 155K) 10. Timing Belt (Mileage: 155K) The "Non-Official Records" taper off there because the owner said he got lazy and neglected the record keeping in the notebook. However, the most important items are already shown. This is: new timing belt, new turbo (official record), new starter, exhaust manifold gasket replaced (official record), new glow plugs (official record), new injector pump (official record), fuel injectors, etc. In another topic regarding more pictures, I am apparently limited to 24, which I have already reached. If you want anything more just email me and I will try to get them to you separately. Thanks, 801 347 3155.On Dec-21-11 at 06:59:25 PST, seller added the following information: An interested party pointed out that the first maintenance list above did not match with the second maintenance list above. Thus, it should be noted that the second maintenance list was meant to be, and herein should be considered an update and a replacement to anything in the first list. In addition, please note that the water pump was replaced at the same time as the timing belt appearing in the second maintenance list above. If you have any more questions please let me know! Happy bidding :)On Dec-21-11 at 07:49:19 PST, seller added the following information: In the interest of further full disclosure, I would like to point out that there is a small silver dollar size dent in the rear passenger side door. This can be seen in the pictures, but some interested parties have requested verification that it is there. Also, the rear tires are in great shape with roughly 85% tread while the front tires are getting close to needing replacement from my estimation. Again, hope this helps. Please only bid after having read all of my disclosed details. An informed buyer is a better buyer right? If you have any other questions that you would like to ask or get clarification on, just ask! :)
