This El Camino is an absolute blast to drive. The restoration took roughly two years and was performed by a high-end Southern California Shop. The end result is a gorgeous looking and wonderfully handling hot rod, show car, fun driver. This car is an absolute blast to drive with over 350 horsepower at the rear wheels. The Edelbrock 4 barrel works like a dream on this engine and combined with the MSD Ignition starts on the first pull. The 4-Speed Muncie “Rock-Crusher” mated with the Centerforce clutch shifts wonderfully. The sound of the Flowmasters is intoxicating. Handling is nothing like the original thanks to lowering and a new suspension and brakes that are required on a high performance street machine like this. The modern Wheels and Radials are the perfect compliment and enhancement to the overall look and handling on this sweet machine. You will feel like you are in a brand new truck right out of the GM Factory. The Paint is very high quality and a gorgeous slight metallic blue color. It is hard to describe and changes slightly depending on the light of day. I took these pictures in a some shade and it almost looks black, but it is not. Looking closely at the front hood pictures you will get a better idea of the true color. All I can say is in person it is absolutely spectacular and it is a Dark Blue. When the car was purchased in 2006 it was found out in the Desert area of Palm Springs and appears to have always been there, as there were no rust issues and was a solid straight body that required minimal body work after 43 years. All Chrome, Trim and Rubber Weather Stripping was replaced during the restoration. The Front Windshield is brand new. The Bed was Rhino lined and is perfect, with a brand new custom made mat. The Fiberglass Tonneau Cover is painted to match the car and has a wonderful fit and finish. The Interior is gorgeous with new seats, new carpet, new door panels and head liner. All interior trim pieces have been replaced as well as rubber trim etc. Nothing was overlooked on this car. The Flip-Face Pioneer CD Player is very high quality and sounds amazing with the front, side and rear speakers with sub neatly placed with the amp behind the seats. The undercarriage on this Southern California born and raised El Camino is in mint condition and is every bit as nice as the exterior of the car. The engine bay is highly detailed and is like brand spanking new. The car has just traveled 1200 miles since completion and is ready to drive cross county. If you are in Southern California feel free to stop by and take this little rocket for a test ride. I am helping a friend sell this car, so feel free to call me for more details or an appointment.
