Vehicle Detail

1957 Mercedes Benz 190SL I am selling this car for a friend of mine. I have seen the car in person but only know some of the details on the car. The following is the statement made by the owner: I have owned this vehicle for 34 years – I acquired it in 1977 from someone in the Salt Lake City area. The car is an original US model, imported from Western Germany. It was last registered in 1984 and was running when it was garaged at that time. It has been in a garage and barn since that time. It is not currently running. It has the original motor, a 1.9 liter 4 cylinder, with the original dual Solex carburetors. The car was represented to me and sold to me as a 1959 and was registered as that. According to the Chassis number it is a 1957. According to the paint color it is a 1959? Not exactly sure on the paint. The paint is not original, nor is it the original color. The original paint was "Synthetic Resin Varnish DB 158G". This color code indicates that it was White Gray. The hard top and soft top are still in working order and all pieces remain with the tops. The spare tire is present. Battery box has rusted through. This is a common problem with these cars. Passenger side floor has rusted through. All gauges and radio functioned when last run. Speed odometer was rebuilt while I had it. The mileage is not accurate. The exact mileage cannot be verified. I probably put on about 10,000 miles before the odometer was fixed. The doors have original leather as well as the back boot that holds the soft top. The seats have been reupholstered in vinyl. I put in a new windshield but it has become delaminated in storage. I will ship to the Continental United States only. I expect payment within 7 calendar days of auction end. The car will be available for shipping within 1 week of the payment clearing. You can arrange for your own shipping or I can secure a transport for you. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping and transport. I accept other forms of payment besides PayPal. The car is also listed locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if it sells locally. Thanks for looking!
