Vehicle Detail
This car is a rare early 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider 750D Normale. The Giulietta is one of the tightest and well balanced vintage sports cars you could ever drive. The 750D is the earlier shorter wheelbase and more desirable model of the Giulietta Spider. This is a numbers matching and 99% complete car. The body is in above average condition for the age of the vehicle. This is a very solid car although there are a few rust spots as can be seen in the photos. The only structural part of the body that has been compromised by rust is the bottom of the driver side front jack point ( Note the Photo ). The uni-body design of this car can easily be compromised by rust, this car however is very solid structurally. The rocker panels and all suspension mounting points are in very good condition, with no rust compromising the structural integrity of the uni-body. Very good candidate for a complete restoration. This car was at a repair shop for service during the 2006 northeast flood, and was completely under water. The car was retrieved as soon as possible, and was disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. All parts, including fasteners were labeled and bagged upon disassembly as can be seen in several photos. The engine was torn down and all parts were cleaned and labeled. We did not find any significant amounts of water in either the rear end or transmission, and neither have any indications of problems. The starter and generator will most likely need to be rebuilt. The dash gauge cluster will need to be refurbished as it shows signs of having been under water. Wiper motor was taken apart, cleaned and does work. The horns are sealed, no water got in them, they work as they should. Heater blower motor was disassembled and will not work. The wiring harness was removed and dried out but will most likely need to be replaced. Not all the parts are shown in the photos, we do have the interior carpet and rubber mats ( in very poor shape). We also have the soft top, tonneau cover, and an apron that covers the area behind the seats. The body of this car is very solid, the door fit is excellent and there is no sag in the hinges. There are a few minor dings in the body, and there have been previous body repairs done on the front passenger fender and rear driver side. There is some surface rust on some body panels, but overall this body is in good shape. As we said, this car is 99% complete, here is what we know to be missing. Front grill Alfa Romeo emblem, one hubcap center Alfa Romeo emblem, one gas tank strap, radio ( we are not sure if it came with one or not ), cabin air intake hoses, one headlight ring is the incorrect year, convertible top frame missing one fastener. We also have a parts manual and a shop manual that will go with the car as well. These cars have been growing in value significantly in the past few years and are continuing to do so, making it not only a great project and fun toy, but also a good investment! Feel free to email or call Steve (607-775-2200) with any questions you may have or for more photos, we have many more we could not put up that we would be happy to send. Car available for local pickup or will ship worldwide with proper arrangements. We will also deliver up to 300 miles away at $1.25 per mile round trip.
