Listed for Sale is our 1999 Mercury Cougar 2dr Hatchback Coupe. i-4 Automatic,front wheel drive, A/C, PW, PL, PS, TW, Rear Defrost, Dual Air Bags, Rear spoiler 25 MPG. This car was purchased used by my wife in 2004 from our local dealer and has been in our family as a pleasure ever since. Vehicle is very clean and in fair condition for its age. Electric Red Exterior and Grey/Black cloth interior that is very clean. I have drove this car to work on and off in the summer time just to keep it moving and it sits in the winter but At this point we just have too many cars in the driveway and need to downsize. Car had a bad tire so we replaced the rear set with brand Firestone tires and the front tires are decent but will need to be replaced soon in my opinion. In the last year I have replaced the exhaust and battery as well. New timing belt and gears around three years ago. Car cleans up nice and is almost rust free. Shines up nice with a wash and wax. All of the glass is without cracks, interior is solid and without rips or tears in upholtery. We have changed the oil religiously. The negatives: this car does have a scratch or ding on virtually every panel, the paint is flaking off of the front bumper, paint on trunk spoiler is fading and it needs rotors on the front as it vibrates when braking,exhaust shop put a flex pipe in the exhaust and it is starting to burn out, and the vent door that regulates the airflow from the outside sometimes sticks causing heat and A/C to not work properly. When the door operates properly the A/C is Ice Cold and heat is hot. There is a little rust developing around the side marker light on the drivers side fender. Has a factory in dash CD Player. I would say that this would be an excellent solid first car for someone willing to put a few dollars in it and if it doesnt sell we will probably just keep it for our oldest daughter.
