hughes35 Store This is a great find ,it is a super rare 1964 Datsun Fairlady Roadster that was rebuilt by a mechanic and then parked in a garage for 25 years. This car would never have come to light except for a chance encounter at the Bakersfield DMV. On seeing our Volvo P1800 on a trailer the elderly owner approached us and told us about his car that had sat in the garage since the 1980's after some discussion we ended up acquiring the vehicle. The car has been stored inside in Shafter California so the dreaded tinworm is not a problem at all. The car has 1600cc twin carb R engine that has undergone a major rebuild. Now the man we bought the car from was an old school mechanic and rebuilt this himself so documentation is not available but here is what he did he wrote this out for me so this is verbatim; rebore .020 over crankshaft regrind to -.010x.010 Cylinder head surfaced and rebuilt New pistons rings and bearings and gaskets valve springs as needed clutch replaced fuel pump needs a diaphragm. We got the car running with external fuel source it sounds fantastic, I have driven the car it needs rear brake wheel cylinders and the clutch master bleeds down but this would be a very easy project. The tires hold air but it will come with mint original wheels{not pictured} they have been powdercoated and will be fitted with decent tires to facilitate transport. The car has a superb body not rusty at all ,it was repainted before storage and has held well but up it really needs repainting. The car needs work but is a very worthwhile project it has a new soft top and a good top frame .
