this auction is for a 1982 vw rabbit. i have owned this car for almost ten years and was up till recently driven daily. It has just over 169000 miles and still runs good. i have always performed regular maintenance on it. it has within the past year a new battery, alternator and timing belt. the rear brake wheel cylinders and drums were replaced within the last 6 months. the muffler was replaced, but the exhaust is noisy from the down pipe and flex pipe connect. i attempted a fix but it needs new pipes. it is still drivable and not to noisy. the vehicle is equipped with factory air that works and has been converted to r134. now the bad. because of worn shifter linkage it is hard to get into 1st and 5th gear ....sometimes. sometimes it works fine. i replaced some of the rubber and plastic bushings and it helped some but the linkage is still binding up so i dont know exactly what's wrong. as shown in the pictures it has some rust from the typical midwest winters. the front inner fenders are getting bad as is the rear hatch. suprisingly the floor pans are good. also shown in the pictures is damage to the right front lower corner of the fender. the previous owner drove over a concrete parking stop and bent the lower control arm shoving the tire back. the lower contol arm and ball joint was replaced. when i purchased the car it had approx 108000 miles since then it has had all struts, wheel bearings , radiator, cv joints replaced those have approx 50000 miles on them. brakes along with calipers and rotors have been replace about 20000 miles ago. windshield was replaced when i purchased the car about 10 yrs ago. car comes with the aluminum gti rims shown in the picture. also included are the steel rims 2 of which have very good snow tires mounted.extra parts include a cooling fan and extra door glass. i also have a box of extra fan relays and a used cold start injector that works. this used to be my daily driver but i just dont need it any more. i still drive it to work 2 or 3 times a week just because. you can drive it or use it for parts. the engine and transmission is solid. no smoke. does leak some though. the reserve is reasonble for the shape its in. i have clear title in hand. the sale will be cash only at the time you pick it up. bring tags and drive it, or a tow dolly its up to you. i will not deliver.thanks for looking
