Vehicle Detail
More photos below this description. This is a 1970 Cadillac DeVille convertible with 91,500 miles, believed original. Needs restoration or is great parts car. Runs and drives. 472 engine with 4 barrel carb. New fuel pump and starter. This car runs well, but needs lots of work. The water pump is noisy, but is not leaking and the car does not overheat, and yes I'm 100% sure it's the water pump rattling. The heater core is leaking near the hose (in the engine compartment, not in the interior). It has a damaged quarter panel as shown. The rest of the body is very straight with minor rust in a few places. It hasn't been driven regularly since 1994, the tires are dry rotted, but they do not leak. Interior floors are solid, the floor under the back seat looks good too. The trunk floor and braces do have rust holes, the worst of it on the driver's side, which is shown below. The lights and most of the power equipment work. The top goes up and down, but needs help when going up, probably needs lubrication and the pump fluid topped off. The original top switch has been replaced with a toggle switch. The original radio is not here, but the two-speaker dash indicates this was a stereo car. The dash pad and faux wood panels are in decent condition. The tilt-telescopic steering column works fine and is not loose and sloppy. The power windows work, but need help coming up, for sure everything needs to be lubricated. The interior lights work. The A/C compressor kicks on when the climate control switch is activated, but is not charged. Optional 6-way 60/40 power front seat mostly works, the passenger side works but the driver side goes up and down only, but not front to back. The metal trim on the lower edges of the seats is rusty. The cowl tag says the original color is "Byzantine Gold" and the interior is medium gold and says this car came originally with a white top. This car needs lots of work but is still a great winter project, easily roadworthy before summer! I will arrange for local storage at buyer expense if pickup date is longer than 2 weeks after the end of the auction. Thanks for looking. free image hosting
