Vehicle Detail

This is a super nice 1987 Mercedes Benz 560 SL has only 71,916 miles. This is a 100% rust free southern car. It has been garage kept in or around Birmingham Alabama all of her life. This vehicle is in exceptionally good condition for her age. I have the original window sticker and it shows the color as Desert Taupe Metallic with a dark brown soft top. MSRP was $58,750. This car drives perfect and is very quick. It has the original 5.6 liter fuel injected V-8 and a 4 speed overdrive automatic transmission that operates perfectly. I am selling this car for a friend who is responsible for liquidating her deceased father’s estate. His family has owned the car since 1999. The Bill of Sale and vehicle ownership transfer paperwork need to be signed off by the judge that is probating the estate. This will not delay the winner from picking up the vehicle. However, realize that the paperwork process might take 30-45 days. We do have title in hand and permission to sell the vehicle. I ALWAYS call what is wrong with my stuff that I sell on eBay. Do not believe for a second that there are any 1987 560SL’s that are perfect. They were not perfect when they were brand new. Yet sellers and dealers do not disclose any problems until you are the high bidder and you go to pick up the car. I call it like it is and show pictures of any issues. There are no secrets with my listing. That is why my rating is 100%. I am unaware of anything else that is wrong with the car. This car is MUCH cleaner than average for a garage kept 1987 year automobile. · The car was recently driven 300 miles from Birmingham to Orange Beach with no issues whatsoever. I have a pretty complete service history on the car including bills of sale and registrationAll dash lights operate properly and there are no trouble lights on.The paint shines and matches perfect. It seems that the trunk and door were repainted but not replaced. There are a couple small dents from the inside out, in the middle of the trunk lid (pictures) There are some typical paint chips that have been touched up on the rear edges of the doors. (pictures) There are some typical paint chips in the front edge of the hood and fenders. (pictures) There is a repaired paint scratch in the left quarter panel and the soft top cover (pictures) All the panels have original VIN stickers on them and it does not appear that the car was ever in an accident. The soft top and the hard top are both in excellent condition. The weather strip and the exterior rubber is in great shape. The clock does not work. Everything else seems to operate properly. The car drives with no shakes, rattles or unusual wind noise. All lights and wiring operate properly. The brakes and rotors were replaced 5000 miles ago The Tires are Michelin and have 60% life remaining. There are some scuffs on the drivers seat from getting in and out. (pictures) but no tears. I just installed a brand new battery. The windshield is original and had no rock stars or cracks. The spare tire and jack are intact. I did not service the car but all fluids look good and serviced within the last 4000 miles. The owner’s manual and other paperwork is intact and complete. I have one key. The hard top comes with a stand. Everything under hood looks correct. The belts, hoses, filters etc. look to be in good shape. The A/C is converted to 134A and is cold. There are some light scuffs on the wheels from going through a car wash (pictures) The under carriage of the car is extremely rust free. (pictures) The ownership history that I have shows that the Car was purchased new by Jim Parsons on May 15th 1987 from Crown Automobile Company in Hoover, AL. Mr Parsons owned the car until around 60,000 miles. Mr Ted Watts bought the car on 9/30/1998. My friends Uncle Earl Holland bought the car 10/22/1999. He passed away and gave the car to his brother David Holland. David Holland passed away and his estate is selling the car on this eBay auction. The bottom line is this car was driven about 5500 miles a year for the first 11 years of her life. She has been driven about 850 miles per year for the last 13 years of her life. The car has been driven 3853 miles in the last 4 years. This car has not sat. I would hop in this car and drive it anywhere. Finally, because this is an estate, this is a no reserve auction. The high bidder at auction end will be the new owner. Don’t email me and ask what I will take for the car. Bid on it. This is an auction. Please have permission from your wife, husband, father, mother, sister, brother, partner, banker, bookie or anyone else that could halt the purchase BEFORE you bid. If you are the high bidder you have a contractual obligation to complete the purchase for the auction price. Being the high bidder does not give you the right to come down and look at the car and see if you want to buy it. IF YOU ARE THE HIGH BIDDER YOU ARE THE NEXT OWNER. Of course if I have grossly misrepresented this car I would not expect you to buy it. Money must clear my bank and be in my account for me to release the car.
