1974 Pontiac Firebird Esprit The Good Unmolested original Firebird. Runs and drives, clear tags and title. Pre-smog year, so you can build it any way you choose. It has the stock 2-bbl 350 V8. The Bad It will need a valve job, #2 cylinder is not firing. Body rot at rear window (typical vinyl top rot). Not sure, but left quarter may have to be replaced. A good body may can probably fix it, however. It will need reupholstering./font> I purchased this thinking I would make a nice street rod out of it. However, I've got too many projects, and not enough time or money to pursue them all. This car sat out in the rain and snow for over a decade, hence the rust. I got it running only to find it will need engine repair. I repaired cut fuel lines and flushed the gas tank as best as I could without removing it. I added fresh gas, but the fuel still smells old. I would recommend a good fuel system cleaning. I changed the oil as well. The A/C belt is missing, but the compressor turns by hand. The smog pump belt is also missing. I would occasionally move the vehicle to circulate fluids and keep the battery charged, but never drove more than around the block because of the really old dry rotted tires. Pitty, they have good tread on them still. The front header and valance were chewed up by the previous owners dogs while going after a squirrel that lived in the engine compartment. (I had to repair many wires that were chewed through by the rodent). Included in the auction is a good header panel and pair of grille sections (see pictures). Sorry, no valance panel. The center console has speaker holes cut in it, and there is no radio. Do a valve job and fix the rear window rot, and you'll have a nice vehicle. Or part it out and make some money. I have the title in hand, and the vehicle has a non-op on it so there won't be any late fees. Even though it runs, I would STRONGLY recommend trailering it if you live more than a couple of blocks away from me. More pictures available upon request.
