Vehicle Detail

1969 JAGUAR E-TYPE 2+2 VIN: P1R42035BW THERE ARE 50 IMAGES OF THIS CAR BELOW THE DESCRIPTION! DESCRIPTION: Starting in 1966, the later 2+2 version of the E-Type or XKE Jaguars turned into a type of family grand tourer that would extend a Dad's youth for many more years to come, as suggested by Car and Driver at the time. The 2+2 variation arrived on a longer wheelbase of 105 inches, which was created by stretching the sheetmetal center of the monocoque, allowing correspondingly longer doors for easier access. In an attempt to make the new overall profile look just right, both the roof and the windshield were raised two inches, which some people actually thought of as an improvement. The larger people certainly did. Some also felt that the longer and heavier 2+2 rode and even handled better, even though the added weight of almost 200 pounds, combined with the taller body, actually cut performance somewhat. But the "family Jaguar" was still plenty fast and it was still a Jaguar. The extra length of the driveline helped to incorporate a forgotten option in the coupes: the automatic transmission. This numbers matching 1969 Jaguar 2+2 has that automatic transmission option, and the entire vehicle was nicely restored last year to near perfect condition. It is finished in Old English White over a saddle leather interior. It originally had A/C which was removed, but all or most of the original A/C components will come with the car. The car has the original drive train and the body was very solid to begin with and only the outer rockers needed to be replaced. The engine was rebuilt as were the majority of the other mechanical components. The car runs and drives like new. It starts right up, shifts right on time and runs at an even temperature. Braking and handling were excellent. The entire interior of the car is all new, except for the dash top, which has a couple of cracks in it. The trunk area is super tidy with a spare, jack and a complete tool kit all stored neatly in their proper places. We drove this car quite a distance to shoot the photos and it performed flawlessly on the back country roads as well as at speed on the highways. The exhaust system is nice and quiet and it runs and drives as well as it looks. We think this Jaguar E-Type 2+2 speaks for itself. As with all of our eBay Motors listings we try to let the photographs tell the story about the vehicles that we are selling. If you study our multiple images carefully you will see exactly what this 2+2 is all about. Our 50 high resolution pictures of this automobile, shown below, will do a much better job of describing the look, style, condition and value of this 1969 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 than our words ever could. We invite questions and comments. VEHICLE LOCATION: BROOKHAVEN, NEW YORK 11719 WORLDWIDE SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS AVAILABLE ALL BIDS ARE CONTINGENT UPON OPTIONAL POST SALE INSPECTION.
