Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a nice 2000 Honda Rebel with low miles. The first owner (a senior citizen) put just over 3000 gentle miles on it in 10 years. I purchased it just over a year ago for my 15 year old son. I have been riding for 42 years and had hoped that my son would be able to ride with me. He circled our house once and decided that he was not that interested in riding. Since he does not even have his drivers permit and would still have to take the approved motorcycle course I could not see letting this Honda sit another year or so. I started it and rode it up and down our street every couple weeks but it needs to be ridden a lot more than that. I have recently put in fresh Honda oil, new spark plugs, fresh gas, new battery, and lubed the chain. It starts and runs great but the idle could be a little smoother. I rode it down the highway yesterday at 60mph and it was very smooth so I think it really just needs to be ridden more. I have the clear title but I never registered it so it will need plates. (That is why I stayed on our street.) It does not have any dings or dents and I can only see one scratch and that is on the front low side of the tank and the turn signal hides it. It has a few age spots on the fork tubes (The chrome upper part is perfect.) and where I can see tiny rust spots forming (foot-peg bracket) I found the chrome polish takes them right off. When it is shined up it is hard to see the difference the extra $2,500.00 dollars for a new one would make. I have tried to give an accurate assessment because I know how hard it is to spend money by looking at pictures. I purchased my W650 this way and I drove nervously all the way to Colorado to pick it up. I have sold two other Honda motorcycles on eBay and both owners were pleased. One paid to have it shipped to Hawaii. This bike needs to be picked up by the buyer as that will make it a better deal for someone. If you have another preferred way of getting the bike home, then feel free to make your own arrangements. Thanks for looking. The idle is much smoother now and the bike goes from 0 to 60 with-out miss or hesitation. (It will go faster.)
