The 57 Chevy ! An Icon in the Automotive World and America's Favorite Classic Car ! I am offering what I believe to be one of the most collectible automobiles of all times. These cars images have been frequently used worldwide in toys, graphics, music, movies and television. As well as in countless business logos. They were referred to as the " Baby Cadillac " and " King of the Short Tracks ". Restored and/or original examples are increasingly rare. Modern customizers and restorers are creating fast, powerful, ultra-modern hot rods that are winning the '57 Chevy a whole new generation of fans. Fiberglass and all-steel reproductions are making it possible for future generations to enjoy the '57 Chevy - but original cars are becoming harder and harder to find. Here is an opportunity to get serious and follow your "..rock'n roll heart.." just like Eric Clapton says and "..all you got to do is lay it down.." ! You are looking at a great example of a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door hardtop in dark-green and white with gray interior. Roll all the windows down and the lines of this timeless no-post design will take your breath away. The car came equipped from the factory with a 283 cui bbl V8, 4 bbl carburetor - Corvette derived engine; coupled to a Powerglide automatic transmission. It has Dual Exhaust, optional Power Steering, Electric Wipers, as well as the rubber front bumper protectors (Dagmar Style) This particular automobile was sold new in New Mexico where it spent the majority of its life, before its relocation to Arizona. Though it started life in Coral-Red with White, somewhere along the way the color was changed to Green Metallic and White and a Gray Cloth interior has been installed. The previous owner informed me that only 2 families owned this Chevy throughout the last 54 years - it was maintained and kept up - but was never restored. The mileage on the odometer is unlikely to be the original mileage, the title reads unknown or exceeds mechanical limits. Just recently the original 283 hi-po engine has been rebuilt. Keith Black pistons, Chrome Moly rings, ARP bolts, Roller Rockers, etc were utilized per the last owner. The block was bored but largely left unchanged, a 4bbl Edelbrock carb and intake were installed - along with a newer distributor and Mallory electronic ignition. A TH350 3spd transmission replaced the old 2spd Powerglide, along with the shift indicator and an oil-cooler has been added. The original transmission, starter and adapter ring will come with car. New tires on 60s style Baby-Moon-Chrome-Wheels add to the beautiful trim present all around this great classic The condition of the car is best described as a nice looking rust-free driver. The paint on the roof and the trunk-lid is very nice. In other areas it is fading and oxidizing. It looks like there was damage to the left rear at one point in its life. Underneath the rear valence on the drivers side is a cross-brace which is bent and rusted. There are some chips and scratches from general use, chrome is good - not perfect, etc. The interior shows well, but also shows its age. Anywhere you take this hardtop - questions, admiration and thumbs up are guaranteed. Very competitively priced for you to relive the 50's 60's 70's without breaking the bank.
