Vehicle Detail

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Up for auction is a very nice 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. This car would make a nice driver for anyone. The car drives excellent, brakes straight and gets many compliments every time it is driven. It is a 4 door sedan and is in the original color combination which was surf green with india ivory top color. The car has all the original floor pans but there has been a very small area patched in the front. The car is solid as seen in the pictures below. The odometer shows 58,900 miles which I do not know if this has rolled over or not, but I would not be surprised if it isn't the original miles by the condition of the painted dash and the fact that I have had the valve cover off and it is spotless underneath it. The dash shows no signs of being repainted and is still in excellent condition as are the gauges which also work. The interior is original I believe and is in good condition. The headliner is nice except for some staining on it. I do think the carpet has been replaced in the past. I have just installed a new set of seat belts from Danchuk ( 2 in the front and 3 in the back). The trunk area is clean as seen in the pics and the spare and jack are there. The motor is a straight six 235 with a power glide automatic. The power glide is the cast iron one and I have just changed the fluid approximately 250 miles ago and also replaced the governor gear (wear item). I also just put new plugs in the motor, new vacuum advance unit, the carburetor received a rebuild kit, changed the oil and filter, new battery cables (were not on in the pictures), and new intake and exhaust gaskets. The car also has a Pertronix ignition installed in the original distributor. All of this was done due to the car coming out of storage. This would make a very nice car for someone to enjoy driving as I have enjoyed owning it myself. It is a nice car which has given me no problems. Just took it on a 110 mile round trip and it never missed a beat. The paint is good but it is not a perfect show car. There are some blemishes in it but there are no rust spots. It does shine excellent and is not faded. Overall very nice looking car which can be driven and enjoyed. After sitting it will leak some oil as I am sure most old cars will. The cast iron carburetor base has been cracked int he past due to someone over tightening the bolts but has been repaired. I am listing this as a no reserve auction so the car will have a new home. Please feel free to ask any question you may have. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Must receive payment within 7 days. Cash and certified cashiers check as payments. Alabama did not title cars before 1975 so the car is being sold with a bill of sales only.
