Vehicle Detail
CJ-6 Year 1973 Transmission Toledo - 3-speed 6 cylinder engine, 232in3 Model Universal, 101 inch Wheelbase, 4 Wheel Drive Body Style Open Body Body Type & Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) Rating 4750 lbs Top and doors are removable History: I purchased this vehicle from a guy in Saint Louis Missouri, who had restored it, in June 2006 and drove it back home to Baton Rouge Louisiana. It was my daily driver in Baton Rouge for a year. In July 2007 I drove the jeep from Baton Rouge to my brother's house in Wyoming going over the Rockies and the Grand Tetons (with the bed full of household goods). While in Wyoming, I regularly drove it over the Teton Pass (8400ft). Since September 2007 I have been outside of the US with the Jeep remaining at my brother's place. This Jeep is in excellent mechanical shape and is by no means a pretty trailer queen. I would not hesitate to drive it cross county and have done so twice. On highway it drives at normal speed (70-75 mph) and due to the longer wheelbase compared to a CJ-5 or CJ-7 has a much smoother ride. There is a small rust hole in the roof and some bubbling on the rear right side. The frame is extremely solid. The paint on the hood does not look so good, due to tree sap. The gas and temperature gauge do not work nor does one of the turn signals on the side. The Jeep was originally a California Department of Forestry vehicle: http://tetra.fluid.tuwien.ac.at/fmuldoo/public_html/pictures/cj-6/IMG_0768.JPG Miles (51,000) are original. Engine has been rebuilt and is quite strong; it is regularly driven at speed on the highway. Parts are all original (although seats have been reupholstered), jeep has not been modified with lift kits, or any other after market improvements. Vehicle is in my name, my brother has a power of attorney from me to sell. Conditions of sale; $500 deposit within 24 hours (I suggest through PayPal) after winning the auction. This deposit will be refunded if you come inspect the Jeep and decide it is not for you, otherwise it is non-refundable. Vehicle should be picked up soon, preferably before November 17, as my brother is leaving for a trip after that date.
