Vehicle Detail

I purchased this lovely Cadillac convertible back in 2004 with the intention of it being the car that would be my luxury cruiser for my retirement. I began a process to completely go through all of the items that could affect reliability. After all, a retired guy and his wife don't want to be stuck on the side of the road. The following items were done:1. Replace timing chain, I then learned that the engine is surgically clean inside. There is no sludge of any kind.2. Replace alternator with solid state internally regulated high capacity unit from a late model GM auto.3. Upgrade distributor with a Pertronix breakerless ignition system with no points or condenser to fail. 4. Replaced GM A6 A\C compressor with a rebuilt unit. System is currently evacuated awaiting charge of refrigerant. (your choice)5. New brake rotors, pads and calipers.6. Replaced all rubber bushings in the front suspension and verified condition of all ball joints and tie rod ends. 7. Rebuilt heater blower and recharged oilite bearings. 8. Replaced power antenna About the time that i was ready to enjoy the car, my source of income collapsed and it seemed unwise to continue to invest time, labor and money in a pleasure. Simultaneously, my wife decided a new kitchen would please her way more that cruising the countryside in a beautiful Cadillac. These events are what drives the sale of my dream car. I've listed what I've accomplished in my period of ownership. There are a few negatives that any buyer should be aware of.1. The front end has not been realigned since i replaced all the bushings, only "eyeballed". It looks good and drives nicely but I know that it should have a professional alignment.2. The shock absorbers are pretty loose, the car rides very softly. 3. The tires are of unknown condition, they have lots of tread left but i have no idea how they were treated in the past. I would replace them before undertaking a trip of any distance. 4. The engine has a bit of a miss at idle, past idle it runs like a scalded cat. It easily will spin the tires.5. The original ostrich leather shows the beginnings of a couple of cracks. Otherwise it's beautiful. The car is in lovely original condition. I believe the listed mileage to be correct as the interior is in such nice condition. I would expect the interior to be worn out if the odometer had been around a couple of times. The rubber in the brake and accelerator pedals is pristine. All of the power windows go up and down smoothly as does the power top. The power top still has the additional padding over the front seat making the convertible almost as quiet as the sedan and hardtop models. The trunk is clean and doesn't leak. A spare tire and jack are included. The body appears to be rust free, except for the lower lip of the deck lid. I'm relisting the car as the original buyer failed to complete the transaction. He said something about his wife. Personally, I'd think a lot of wives would love to ride in a nice convertible.
